I love my city.Delhi is a mixture of the new and the old,its beautiful, green, pretentious, obnoxious but i still love it.

LP writes Don't let your first impressions of Delhi stick like a sacred cow in a traffic jam: get behind the madcap façade and discover the inner peace of a city rich with culture, architecture and human diversity, deep with history and totally addictive to epicureans.

Both Old and New Delhi exert a beguiling charm on visitors. Lose yourself unwinding the secrets of the city's Mughal past in the labyrinthine streets of Old Delhi before emerging into the wide open spaces of imperial New Delhi, with its ordered governmental vistas and generous leafy avenues.

My city is a college town, and it's relatively small, but there is so much to see and do that you get a headache just trying to choose how to spend your time.

The campus alone has so much going on each week that I just created a hour-long radio show JUST to tell people all the things that are going on that week. We barely get the job done, and we don't even get to the things happening downtown or in the peripheral regions!!

My city has so many smart people that they set the standard in political thought for the entire country, and talk show hosts who have never been to our town constantly try to insult it. They fail. We do talk shows that would blow people's minds if they were broadcast nationally.

Visitors from ivy league schools say our campus is far more beautiful than theirs.

On one side of us is miles of ocean beaches, surfing and one of the most famous aquariums in the world, and on the other side, thousands of square miles of forests to explore.

Homeless people come from all over the country to our town and find peace in our town. They play fascinating music up and down our main street. I'd bet we have more artistic talent per capita than any other town in the country. The homeless also find many humane services immediately, get back on their feet, and leave with new hope and direction. I did a news segment on this, and I broke down crying over how much the town and churches were doing for the homeless. There was food, shelter, psychological services, drug rehab, medical services, and homeless advocates watching the cops and fighting for the security of the homeless every day of the year.

The politicians in this town tend to be college professors with office hours and are extremely accessible.

The Christians in my town are people who do not hate. They believe what they believe, but they also care about their fellow man. I can tell you, they are not hypocrites. This is the same with the Jews, the "Pagans", the "witches", and any other religion you can imagine. Everyone believes what they believe, and they have no problem tolerating everyone else.

My town is the epicenter of some of the most important scientific, mathematic, linguistic, ecological, and sociological thinking ever done in the history of mankind.

18 year olds in my city make national news every year for their bravery and the substance of their opinions.

Our city has a radio station that is totally untouched by the FCC's regulations, and occasionally announce, "**** the FCC!" As silly as that may be, it is just a token example, for you have no idea how blind you have been your entire life until you have experienced 100% unregulated, unprocessed, not-for-profit communication. One day, a couple years ago, after the whole Janet Jackson boob scandal, the FCC started cracking down, and staked the station out, and raided all their equipment. Donations from the town flooded in, and three weeks later they were back on the run, and back on the air, with shiny new equipment that they had been wanting for a long time.

True story: a friend of mine was stopped by police who were about to search her car. They asked her if she had any drugs. She said, "yeah, I have a bag of pot." At that, the cops said, "That's it?" She said, "yes." They replied, "we're not going to waste our time," and promptly drove away.

Perhaps the best thing about our city is that every day, there is a man who dresses up wildly, puts on rosy cheek makeup, carries an umbrella, and takes half-steps up and down the main street of town. He will smile at anyone, and I don't think he takes any holidays.

Need I go on?

Alright, here's the clincher...

We have cows.
