I went to Tennessee earlier this month on vacation. What a beautiful place with the friendliest people. And Nashville is a fun town. If you can't have fun there then you can't have fun. I highly recommend Tennessee. |

I live in IN and am relocating to TN. this month. IN is redneck, TN is not. I love it and I'll tell you what, I don't know of anyone down south who are rednecks. Warm, loving and sincere people who will bend over backward to welcome you. I love Tennessee and I'd be happy to live in a cabin and play country music, y'all! LOL! |

Tennessee is decent. I went on a greyhound bus trip by myself there when I was 18. I'll tell you, there are a lot of friendly people there, and the weather is GREAT. It never snows...Gets a bit cold, but the really nice weather starts already in late Feb or March. Great landscape, too. |

I love Tennessee go there every year for vacation now turned it inot a family reunion this year with relatives from Florida meeting us there. We go to Pigen Forge, Seiverville and Gatlinburg. So much to do on that strip and they keep adding new stuff every year. I rent a cabin on top of the mountain so I can get the best views of the montain tops. I recommend doing Christus Gardens, Dollywood and Nascar Speedpark for a thrill and don't forget to go to Boyd's Bear and make a friend with a little one. |

Tennessee is gorgeous. I love Gatlinburg and I love going to Cade's Cove. Next June our youth group is going to Memphis to St. Jude Research Hospital. We are making a monetary Donation. This will be my third trip to Memphis. It's a beautiful city and I love going to the Peabody to see the ducks...Quack! lol |

Tennessee is awesome, I used to spend my summers there when growing up. Gatlinburg, and the Smokey Mtns, is a very fun place to hang out and visit. |

Well, I live in East Tennesse. Born and raised here. I live way back in the hills, but that's the way I like it. I love my accent, and I love the laid back, country atmosphere. The towns where everybody knows everybody...that kinda stuff. There are alot of stereotypes about Tennesseeans...for example...your question. To be completely honest, i love being a redneck/hillbilly. Several people in my family plays bluegrass music. My Dad played professional bluegrass music on the road. He has all my life. I play bluegrass music (fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo and bass), and love it. So, i live way back in the hills, play bluegrass music, love country music, have a southern accent! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud to be from the hills of East Tennessee, and i'm so proud to be a redneck woman!!!!!!! |

to me that is not true they aren't reds necks, well, at least not all of them, Okay i do not know if you have kids or you watch the show hannah montana, Miley in the showis from Tennessee and i have to tell you she is not a red neck and she does not live in a cabin, so think about it and see if i am good enough to get picked!!!!!!!!! :-) and she listens to pop and rock not country. |

tennessee is beautiful..it is my home state..i live in the sevierville area near dollywood and pigeon forge..i do have an accent and proud of it ...i don't really like country music.. ilike classic rock and pop ...i don't live in a cabin...i am a red neck sometimes but that is no worse than being a yankee from up north..i think too many people watched the beverly hillbillies on tv and movies and assumed we all live like that...lol..we are all just as normal as the next person ....each area of the country has their own little different things they do you know?..come on down and check us out!! we have a lovely and fun place to have your vacation...lots of mountains and amusements and fun things to do...have a beautiful day!!! |

Tennessee is one of my favorite states. I do like country music, but I enjoy the casual feel of the city and friendliness of its people. |

Well, I lived in Chattanooga for 7 years and you pretty much have it right. well, except for the cabins. yes, I know, I know, there is a SMALL percentage of them that are not like that. the only redeeming thing I can remember is the BESSIE SMITH STRUT!!! |

I visited Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge a few times and actually enjoyed it. It was very peaceful and the weather was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was that I saw too many Confederate flags around. |

That's what I thought too but it isn't true. There are so many northerners who have moved to Tennessee that it is unusual to hear a strong drawl. There are million dollar houses and very few cabins except those that are used as vacation houses. There are classical music stations and opera houses in all of the major cities. Yes, there is country music and Dollywood a lot of beautiful country and rivers to float down or go whitewater rafting. |

Tennessee is beautiful, and actually has a lot of culture other than country. It is someplace that everyone should see |

A beautiful state with wonderful and kind people. I seriously doubt that "everyone" thinks what you said; especially considering some famous Tennesseans include: Davy Crockett (1786 - 1836) Frontiersman; born in Limestone. Aretha Franklin (1942 - ) Gospel singer known as the "Queen of Soul;" born in Memphis. Dolly Parton (1946 - ) Country singer and actress; born in Sevierville. Morgan Freeman (1937 - ) Famous actor who has appeared in movies such as Driving Miss Daisy, Lean on Me Amistad and others. Born in Memphis. Al Gore, Jr. (1948 - ) 45th Vice president of the U.S.; raised in Carthage. James Agee (1909 - 1955) Writer, poet; born in Knoxville. Alvin York (1887 - 1964) World War I hero; born in Pall Mall. Elvis Presley (1935 - 1977) One of the most famous singers of all time that helped develop rock and roll; moved to Memphis in 1948. Cybill Shepherd (1950 - ) Actress made famous from television’s Moonlighting and Cybill; born in Memphis. Tina Turner (1939 - ) Singer. She won a Grammy award in 1972 and starred in the movie Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome; born in Brownsville. Lester Flatt (1914 - 1979) Bluegrass musician; born in Overton County. Benjamin L. Hooks (1925 - ) Executive director of the NAACP, attorney, and clergyman; born in Memphis. The list goes on and on.....including three US Presidents: Andrew Jackson, James Polk and Andrew Johnson!! |
