yah i live in the Midwest (Kansas/ Missouri) and i think alot of people around here do feel that way about you Californians...but i personally believe there are people like that in every state. The Hollywood thing adds to it alot

Uh, Californians can really suck, as a southern OREGONIAN I deal with them people on a daily basis. And I can say that all I want cuz I was born in California, luckily my parents had some common sense and decency and moved to Oregon by the time I was 5 months old. Californians really have a lack of common courtesy along with every day common sense. (Not all of them of course, just your average overly-tanned paris hilton wanna-be with the over sized hand bag and the tiny skitzo chihuahua.)

When I moved to Virginia people would say "Where are you from?" and I would say "California" and they would get very excited. They would say "Why would you leave?" After a while I began to anticipate that response.

To many people California is still the place of roads paved in gold and all that. But living here (I've moved back) isn't all that incredible. The beaches are nice. The cost of living is high. The strip malls are plentiful and as soul-less as the people, but it's home.

Well... many of the people in California are caught up in "reality" t.v. shows and try to imitate them. So in general California's t.v. shows are bad and all of the followers. California is great, but the most fun area in so cal north cal is mostly farmland and mountains, but if u like that stuff north cal is the place for you. California is more spaced out than NY. CA is better =P in my opinion.

I'm going to take that as an offensive statement considering it's my home state! Most Cali people really don't go around bragging that they're from there. I mean, if you want to know my opinion, that's just the stereotype that non-Californians are made to believe so that when ever they meet someone from CA, they automatically assume we only have stuff to brag about. Jeez! Don't hate on us. We probably have the worst state economy in the whole U.S. right now anyway.

And for all you non-Calis, it is definitely NOT always sunny here. We get rain, clouds, snow (in Northern CA), wind, and 20 degree weather. So don't try and make it seem like that's our excuse.
