I live in Sydney, Australia......what's wrong with here?
If you haven't been to California, how do you know it's the best place to live?
Go for a visit first and see what it's like but don't pack all of your belongings and move without having a good look around to assess the friendliness of the people, living conditions and employment opportunities. What you see on TV and read in the newspapers isn't necessarily what California is all about. If for some reason, you don't like Sydney, don't fall into the trap of "the grass is greener on the other side". It's not always the case.
California may not be what you thought it was.....................
What area of Sydney do you live?
I live next to a surfing beach - it's like being on holidays 24/7.

California is getting really nice to live in. The sun is always up high on a breezy afternoon. After spending much time in California you will feel like you have lived there for about more years than you can imagine. I love Hawaii. But it's just plain hot and it rains. The bets part of it is that you can just get wet in the beach without having to worry it's raining.

There are tons of great places, but I prefered my time in L.A. over Sydney.

Ocean City, MD there is a beach (i am pretty sure there has NEVER been a shark attack in ocean city, md before.) a boardwalk with like everything! lol and is fun!

If you mean "What" like in your question, then I'd say a house.
If you mean "Where", then I'd have to say the U.S.A.

The best place to live in USA is Hawaii.

But if you come from Sydney, to be honestly, stay where you are.

Hawaii's great, but it costs twice as much as in Sydney. A house here costs from US$800,000. Capsicum costs US$4.99 a pound, not a kilo!

Health insurance costs about US$200 a month! How much does Medibank private cost? US$400 a year? VIP service!

Don't bother moving to California. San Francisco is great, but even in summer it's colder than winter in Melbourne! And it's not as pretty as Melbourne.

L.A. downtown is a trash ground. The Hollywood Boulevard is as old as the oldest street in poor suburb in Australlia. Air pollution is terrible. Beaches don't look good. No blue sky. The ocean is white. Why bother?

You can only upgrade to Gold Coast, Australia. That's what I'm thinking .

There are heaps of cool places, like New York and L.A but California is good also. I think Sydney, Australia is the best place in the world though. I went there for WYD08 and it is so amazing.
