Hmm I live in Minnesota and it's nice here. Lots of lakes and parks, good people. But when I graduate I'm definitely moving. I want to see everywhere. I think either New York, Hawaii or Washington would be great. California's also nice.
Colorado is beautiful and has amazing mountains and Montana is breathtaking. I've driven through Iowa, Kansas and South Dakota and all are too flat for me. I'd say California, but only certain parts (I wouldn't want to live in L.A. due to the smog and bad public transportation system). Arizona is also amazing and to watch the sun go down in the desert is a beautiful thing. Arkansas is supposed to be quite pretty, though poor. Every state has its positives and its drawbacks. The cities in Colorado are growing quickly. New York is expensive as are many places in Hawaii. Arizona and New Mexico are hot.
So I'd say Rhode Island and Maine would be great. Basically every state is awesome, just pure greatness. It just depends on what you're looking for.
Hah at this point I should just post the name of every state, I want to see it all. |

This answer is going to be unpopular...
I'm not going to say Hawaii or California or Florida... those are "obvious"
I am going to say Maryland.
Maryland has beaches, mountains, farmland, cities, history all within 2-3 hours driving. Minutes from charming small cities such as Alexandria, VA but also minutes from the nation's capital Washington, DC. You can catch a bus to NYC for very cheap (often less than $5) and if you want to drive it would take 3 hours. Philadelphia is also close.
In addition, you get to experience all seasons, but nothing too extreme. Maryland people are generally friendly and there is always something to do no matter what you like.
Maryland has great food (especially if you like crabs) and great culture. Many of the activities are free. The public transportation is relatively clean and very accessible.
There are many other reasons as well, just thought I'd name a few. |

NEW HAMPSHIRE BABY!
New Hampshire has all of the season: nice winters, warm summers, its very beautiful all year round.
New Hampshire also has a very nice environment, with a pretty low crime rate. |

it all depends on what you want in the state. cali is good except for gas. Iowa is good for gas, we get the casual weather change, sometimes unpredictable. florida is expensive and ya know |

Alabama. It's one of the few states left where abortion and gay mariage are not legal. And it's a beautiful state. What we like to say is "If you don't like the weather, just wait a few days, 'cause it'll change."
