Washington, specifically Seattle. It's an awesome place. The mountains and hills, right next to the busy(but not overcrowded) downtown and city, which is next to the sparkling Puget Sound water. The Space Needle is awesome! My aunt got married there, and I went. It was so high up, you could see the whole city and Mt. Rainer! Space Needle Park is also great, with a giant arcade, Key Arena(where the basketball team, the Sonics, play), and a science museum. Key Arena is a great arena to watch a game, it's clean, modern, and fits a lot of people. Pike's Market is so cool, walking around and looking at all the vendors. There are so many other things I could say about Seattle and the beautiful state of Seattle, but you should just go there yourself and see what I'm talking about. |

Favorite State: New Mexico
I love New Mexico - it's called the Land of Enchantment and it truly is. Northern New Mexico has some of the finest skiing in the entire US. Taos is my favorite and it's as good as it gets.
Santa Fe is a beautiful city and a lot of fun with a lot of history.
New Mexico truly has some wild and scenic places: Gila Wilderness, Pecos Wilderness, Chaco Canyon, and much, much more.
My favorite city is Durango, Colorado. I love Durango, especially the Durango railroad. That is one of the neatest trips of my life:

My favorite states, besides where I live, are Alabama, and Arizona. These are a complete contrast to each other, which is probably why I like them. In Alabama, you have the coastal area, and the plains in the south, and the hills trees and mountains of the northern part of the state. You can watch the change of scenery through the year, and enjoy the four seasons, but still easily get someplace warm. And if you like football (which I love) Alabama is one of the places where football is born.
Arizona is the opposite of Alabama, with the desert and the open areas, the Grand Canyon, and the Saguaro cactus. It has a whole different type of beauty.
My favorite cities are Flagstaff, Arizona. I love that you can leave the desert and 20 minutes later be standing in snow. Florence, Alabama. This is an unknown small town nestled in northwest Alabama. It has history, museums, arts, and a University with nice restaurants but all in a small and friendly town.
Of course, based on your criteria, I had to leave out, Texas, and San Antonio (because I live there) but they would be right up there. |

I think each state has something to offer and all have a beauty to them. I have been to all except Hawaii and North Dakota, so I think I can pretty much say that.
Alaska is the most beautiful place I have ever been to as it's just pure nature and rugged. New Jersey is cool because it's not what you expect it to be. New Jersey has a bad reputation, and is a beautiful place. It's not like what you hear in all the jokes.
Arizona is gorgeous - Utah has amazing things to see, Wyoming has mountains and open spaces and Pennsylvania is like the world in one small place.
I really don't think there is one place that you could consider to be the best. |

Exceptional from where i'm from (Chicago), I do have a great liking towards New York City, NY. Probably because it has so many similarities with Chicago. The hustle of everyday living, the diversity among people, the food, just the whole city life experience overall. |
