Any amount you're willing to throw away...but Have FUN!!!! Vegas is great!

I think you could have a good time with $600. The food and drinks are cheap.. I recommend seeing a show!

Ancespiration
I am a former slot employee, and hospitality worker, and have seen it all. In spite of what you intend, you will likely gamble for two reasons:

1) It's going to be all around you. If you're staying on the Strip, it's pretty much unavoidable.

2) Your partner will likely do it, and then you will also be enticed.

Allow, at minimum, $300 per person-per day for your food and gambling. That's over and above your accomodations. Also, if you intend on seeing a great Strip show, book your tickets online and in advance. That way, you'll know what's available, and won't be disappointed.

Many people arrive here thinking they can get, for instance Celine Dion (Brand New Day; Caesars Palace Coliseum) tickets at the last minute, only to be woefully disappointed to find that she's either sold out or on vacation. If you do decide that you'd like to see an amazing show, first find out when you'd like to travel, but don't yet book your ticket and hotel. Find out what shows are available for your travel dates, and if there are available tickets. Then, book your air and hotel. Then, you are free to purchase your show tickets, which you can do easily and quickly online.

You may think that the amount I suggested is high. But when you're here and having a great time, you won't regret it. Also, if there is surplus at the end of your stay, take back some souvenirs and take some money back home with you.

If you do decide to play--even if only a small amount--take the time to go to each casino's player's club, and take a moment to enroll for their unique player's card. (They're cute souvenirs, even if you don't play a lot.) Often, a free promotion offers you some kind of token gift, just for enrolling. That way, you'll earn points. If you do play well, the casino may send you offers to return that might include a free buffet, show tickets, or a free nights, depending upon the caliber of your play.

I also personally recommend that slot players (the same would work for table players) also bring a box of #10 plain white sealable enveleopes. They weigh practically nothing, and only take up a small amout of space in your overnight bag. That is for your winnings. Everytime you win a jackpot that requires a handpay by the slotperson, or if you receive a large ticket from the EZ-pay machine (ie: $20, $50, etc. or above), seal your winnings in an evenlope. Don't open the envelope until you get ready to check out of the hotel. Allow ample time to visit the cashier or main casino cage and perhaps wait on line. Then, cash in all your tickets. That way, you are sure to go home with money. Be ahead of most people who visit Vegas--be a winner!

Good luck!

As much as you can afford... There is so much to do and see and do take the monorail, the walking will kill you there is soooo much to see! It's a blast and very expensive ! And then if you gamble, well it can really cost you....... Have a great time and good luck.... Vegas is a whole different world.......FUN!

600 should be good for the weekend. As long as you already paid for the room.

My boyfriend an I were just there last month....we didn't gamble either. We spent about a grand over 4 days.

If you want to see a show those run between 65 and 100 bucks a ticket. Clubs cost about 20-40 bucks to get into. Drinks run between 2.50 and 8 bucks (where ever you are) Food for two...well we paid between 18 and 156 bucks for each meal. Cabs run between 5 and 20 bucks. They also have the bus about 2 bucks....I just don't recommend them at night.

Don't do room service.....big mistake on my part. We paid sooooo much for convenience.

I think $600. sounds reasonable for a Vegas weekend. Plan on more if you want to go to a hot show. But just eating and drinking and seeing the sights can be done very comfortably on that amount.

Go to breakfast at the Victorian Room at the Barbary Coast hotel. It's very reasonable and delicious.

And do put a few quarters into a few slot machines it's fun and 'you never know'!

Good luck and have fun.

Stay away from Vegas. That's the best suggestion.

Most restaurants there are a little pricey...bars, too. If you stay away from the fancy star-chef places, and eat at the little bistro type places in most hotels, you'll save $$$$. Best way to get drinks???? Sit at the slots (don't spend much) and order from the cocktail waitresses.....a $6 beer can be had for a $1 tip!!!!

That's a difficult question to answer because it really depends on your taste. If you are not gambling and aren't seeing any shows that $600 should cover you easily for a weekend unless you want to go to the really expensive restaurants and high-end clubs. Here's a very broad idea of what things cost in Vegas...

Meals
Buffets - $6-12 for breakfast; $8-18 for lunch; $12-25 for dinner.
Cheap restaurants (24 hour coffee shops, food courts, etc.) $5-10 per person per meal
Moderate restaurants (chain restaurants, lower end casino restaurants) - $8-20 per person per meal
Expensive restaurants (casino restaurants) - $25-300 per person per meal but most will run you at least $50 per person at dinner

Drinks
Hotel lounges/bars - no cover, drinks $5-10 unless you are at a bar that has video poker and you are playing then they are free
Nightclubs/ultra-lounges - cover $10-30 per person, drinks $6-15. Even water is expensive at these places - I paid $8 for a bottle of water at one club!

Shows
Daytime shows - $20-45 (you can often find coupons or discounts for these)
Low cost evening shows - $30-50
Moderate cost evening shows - $45-75
High cost shows - $75-$200

Attractions
Many are free (tigers, fountains, etc.) but many charge anywhere from a few bucks (local museums) up to about $20 per person (Madame Tussaud's for example).

Transportation
Cabs cost $3.20 for pickup and then $2.00 per mile afterward - cab from the airport will run you $12-25 depending on where you are staying.

Miscellaneous
Miscellaneous items like gum, snacks, cigarettes, etc. will cost you more in Vegas - sometimes a few cents, sometimes a few bucks. A bottle of water at Wynn Las Vegas' sundry shop is $7. Sodas around $2 at most places. Cigarettes $6-7.

Have fun!

If you're not going to gamble...then you are wasting your time going to Vegas. There is absolutely nothin except gambling. Unless you want to see Celine Dieon or Wayne Newton or whatever his name is.

Go to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket Island. The coolest place to be this summer.

if the room is already paid for and no gambling then $1,500.00 to $2,000.00 to be on the safe side. you will probably not spend that amount but in vegas you never know!
for your information restaurants we eat at are:
1. the palm in the caesar's palace shopping mall
2. the stage deli in the caesar's palace shopping mall
3. the california pizza kitchen in the mirage
4. the cheesecake factory in the caesar's palace shopping mall
5. the rio or billagio buffets

a great show is danny ganz in the mirage or O in the billagio. make your reservations well in advance. calll at least a month. if it is closer still try!. cheaper show is the blue man group if that is your kind of show.
enjoy your trip. stay away from the slots because they are very tight and will eat your money up.
the helicopter ride over the grand canyon is neat.
enjoy!

Make sure you have enough to play with and if you're not going to rent a car, check out the monorail, it's a quick and fairly cheap way to get around (and it's air conditioned).

I would say about $500-800, plus room.

The $600 is good for meals and attractions and stuff, but for gambling, bring whatever amount you can stand to lose. (In other words, it won't devastate you financially.)
