full of REDNECKS..ever been there? nothing to see that rebel flag proudly being waved....that is one state thats not much to brag about

melgario
FAKE hospitality (nice to your face and slam you as soon as your back is turned) and full of people stuck in the Civil War (you LOST! hello!! get over it!). I think the state is ranked somewhere around 50 as states with best educational system, so you figure it out...

In one word, South Carolina is Southern. Without a doubt it is one of the top states with the most history and heritage. From Greeneville to Columbia to Charleston, it is all deep south.

Stereotypes for people that live in South Carolina.. racist, dumb, incestuous, hicks. That is the South in general, not SC specifically. I am not aware of any stereotypes for ONLY South Carolina. I don't think of it as the poorest, dumbest or most racist state in the South, though. Good news!

I think of SC as beautiful country, not basing that on any knowledge of experience though. It just seems like there would be rolling hills and cabins and stuff.

Disclaimer: I'm originally from a Southern state, and while there is always some truth to stereotypes, there are plenty of educated and decent people in the South.

Some will say "Hicks" & "Hillbillys" & alot of "Afro-Americans" but; really it's not that bad; seeings that it's on the coast and they get alot of East Coaster Yankees coming down that don't feel the need to go all the way to FLA when they can "Kick it" at like say:?? Myrtle Beach perhaps; which in my opinion is the best place in S.C. Actully, I'm from San Francisco, born and raised Californian; but I've traveled the United States EXTENSIVLY thanks to my Job.. (You guess??).. Anyway; I've ALSO got a place just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, and the thing I like about South Carolina is you can at least find SOMEWHERE to hide out from the heat and .,Well mostly Humidity is my "Beef" with the South in general... Myrtle Beach is that place in South Carolina..and I'm there almost 2 weeks, Almost every spring, so I should know that it's a massive spring break town..and "Pickers" are in high demand that time of year; so, what the hell...it's better than farther into the South where you WILL find some pretty serious Racisim; but be warned; it ISN'T just the "White" Americans who are racist.. I'm mean I'm used to Oakland, or Berkeley, where IF there is any racisim; it's appearent so fast to the one with the problem that they head to another place where they can at least get someone to listen to them.. Tennessee; Wilson County to be exact; 28 miles east of Nashville, is the most Racisit place I know; especially after dark... IF your skin is the same that is! It's not that they are out hunting for the black and whatever's; but IF, they come out of this little area that the Locals call the "Hutches",,, and it's after dark; that in of itself is "Probable Cause" for the Fuzz to stop you and they will "Totally" "Bust a move" on your 4th amendment rights; (For those of you that even know what that means..They rely on ignorance of this kind of thing; to do as they please there.. Not in South Carolina though..
Dig this:... Forrest Gump is sitting on that bench; talking to the different people that are getting off the bus... Right?? Well, that's actually filmed in Georgia; however, it looks MORE like that in SC than it does in GA... You'll find plenty of good food; and that crap that's going on over inward torwards the mid south these days is a long way off from there..
PS: I DID take this opportunity to "Jerk the covers" off the Wilson County Sheriffs Dept, And the Lebanon, Tennnessee Police Dept.. NOT all are up to this stuff.. but I'm in CA right now and fear not! Besides; I'm white, and as long as I shop late, and dress like a local, nobody even knows I'm there; I just slip in, and head for BNA and I'm gone; (Unless it's a bus for 3 or 4 weeks),,, That's getting back to how I know this damn country so well,,,I know every "Bump in the road" I say; and South Carolina,,,Don't let me down..
So, HOOTIE?? Let's "BLOW" and "FISH" down by the river sometime soon..
"Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers, yeah, they been known to pick a song or two!
Lord they get me off sooooo much; They pick me up when I'm feelin' blue; now how 'boutchu',,,
Sweet home Carolina,,,,Where the moss is so blue,,,.,;<:<><><< Sweet Home Carolina; ><>><<><<I didn't say "NORTH, don't be a fool"..><><><><>>
Well in Charlston they love the "Blowfish" ><>><><<, Now I'm not sure where they went off to,,><><><<>>, now drinking drummer's piss me off sooo much,, and "Bozo'd" bassmen sure do to,,><><><>>, Theeeeeeeeeee, A F of M aint worth a Daaaaamn no moe; I'd rather be a runnin' up and down sixteenthhhhhh AVENUE,,now how bout you, tell me true ,,><><>><>>
