What is it about Texas that makes everyone from there so arrogant?

If it wasn't for the oil all you'd have is coyotes and jack rabbits. Crappy schools, eveyone around here drives jerk.

hey, don't diss our coyotes and jack rabbits! All you are missing is the armadillos, and you've got fixin's for chili!

and in answer to your question, a wise man once said: "son, don't ask a man where he's from. If he's from Texas, he'll tell you, and if he ain't, you don't want to embarass him".

have a nice weekend, y'heah?

(and if I was from Scotland, I sure would learn how to spell it right)

TX Made
We're hung like horses and we don't like guys with purple mohawks

I've lived in Texas for four years. And I can tell you that people there are not arrogant!! There are arrogant people and Aholes everywhere you go. but people in Texas are just proud of where they're from that's all there's nothing wrong with that. Texas is a great state. I suggest that you stay there for a lil bit and get to know it before asking a question like this!!

Our biggest problems are from yankees who move here and then tell us how it was done back east and how it would be better if we changed and did it their way.

joker
Well as a native Texan I can tell you that a lot of the people here are either first or second generation Texans, so they are from somewhere else. So maybe you can answer the question.

1. Texas is a gorgeous place and really colorful in the summertime so I have no idea how you think it would be crap...
2. Coyotes are rarley EVER seen. (:
3. Southlake TX is voted top city in the USA.
4. EVERYTHING IS BIGGER IN TEXAS!!!

It's not the Texans that are arrogant, it's the Damn Yankees that have come in. If you don't like it, there are numerous highways leaving the state in all directions. And Mr. TX Made, where are ya honey? I do love my well-hung men, we do grow them big here in Texas.

Excuse you. Dallas has more shopping per capita than any other city in the United States and has some of the best restaurants in the country. Texas has the best state fair in the country and is the biggest state of the 48 contiguous states in the union. Texas has it's stake in history as well (e.g. The Alamo). You have got to do your research.*

Where the hell are you in Texas that you are only seeing oil, coyotes, and jackrabbits? You have got to be in the western side..you do realize there is alot more to this state than your backyard right?

HI!!

Texans are NOT arrogant, and what made you believe that?

In texas alotttt of singers get alot of fame from here, Like the Jonas Brothers came to the texas state fair, and they said ON NATIONAL TELEVISION that they siad why they think they are sooooo BIG now is because of the tx st fair!

mstrobert
So where do you live that everyone drives jerk?

For the same reason New Yorkers are a bunch of anti-gun none executing your murderers.

That's obviously a generalization.

I live in Dallas, and because of the tax benefits, (no state income tax), many companies have relocated their headquarters here. Because of this, it is hard to find a native Texan. Most of us come from other states. Even the Texas drawl is hardly heard around Dallas...Dallas, Texas in general is a melting pot for people from all over the country.

So, any generalization you are making about the people has little to do with the state of Texas.

I will give you that Dallas was the plastic surgery capital of the world...and that many here do live above their means..in big houses, driving luxury cars, etc...whether or not they can afford them....why, I don't know...does that make them arrogant, not so sure.

As to the schools....UT/Austin, SMU/Dallas, among many others are very well respected.

Texas is GREAT because we kill a president and money off it for 100 years. Texas is great because we don't believe in keeping anything sacred. you will be unable to find anything resembling old dallas.

I think it's something in the polluted water they drink and polluted air they breathe. Makes them think they're better than everyone else. Probably a form of lead poisoning.

Its the sheer pressure to be more manly and proud than anyone!

They have to show some muscle with the "dont care, I can do anything" type of attidude.

Not sure, Im from Sctoland and Ive never seen a texas person in my life!

WOOP!
