What is so great about Los Angeles besides the celebrities and fame?

The celebrities and fame isn't why I live here. You can go years without seeing a celeb. It's no big deal. If that's why you came here, no wonder you were disappointed.

For me, it's the weather, the tolerant attitude, and the variety of food and people.

1. The endless amount of sunshine, blue skies, and strong breezes mean we have to spend a lot of money on sunglasses, hairspray and window blinds,

2. Hundreds of miles of freeways mean we can get to anywhere without the convenience of stop lights and toll booths.

3. The housing boom means our parents who bought houses when we were kids are now sitting on a million dollars of real estate and are now cashing in and are spending our inheritances.

10. Being the city with the most the most diverse population in the country means we are forced to live, work and socialize with people who are not exactly like us.

Haha! You're just like the majority I meet in LA who come to visit/live. A little 14 year old girl from Pennsylvania got SO ANGRY because she convinced her parents to go to California and she didn't see one celebrity walking around (main reason for going.) As Obviousman says, "California breathed a sigh of relief when you left!"

I like LA because I love going to the Mexican communities. They also have lots of clubs to go to (ladies here I come!!)

But if I have the kids with me, we go to the theme parks. I LOVE LA!

The opportunity, the high pay, the great weather, the architecture, the culture, the sports, the beach, the nice people, the food, and my wonderful house and neighborhood.

Its live city as no other it has places like 3rd street Promenade , beaches, so many amusment parks like Universal studios, Disney etc. And best of all you can find all kind of ethinic foods there and cheap. LA is great for shopping too.

I think that's fine--people who don't like it here shouldn't come here--plain & simple (one less car on the freeway). There are beautiful & great spots all over the US--something for everyone. That's one reason I love the US.
