I have always loved going to the Punalu'u Black Sand Beach on Hawaii, when I was a kid I loved that you could play in it all day and still be clean with no sand on your skin at the end of the day, I also love watching the sea turtles on the beach there.

Also on Oahu there is a beach on the north west shore, when I was a kid you had to walk through the trees to get there and when you broke out onto the beach you were always all alone, there were cliffs on both ends of the beach which isolated it. My family used to spend whole days there by ourselves in the sand and surf, watching the waves splash over the lava formations off shore. It was the most beautiful place I can remember. ANd the best thing was there were never any tourist, it is rare to find an isolated beach anymore.

My favourite beach is at Port Douglas, Australia. Just wonderful, long, deserted and beautiful. Coconut trees, mangroves, a view of a rainforest!
Also I love Indian Rocks near Clearwater, Florida because it's so hot, warm sea and white sands, palms trees, cactus, shells...bliss!

St Ouen's five mile beach in Jersey, Channel Islands. Used to live over there, it's great for suring and swimming, but also for galloping a horse!!

Dr.Dee
Kailua Beach on the windward side of Oahu, Hawaii

Warm temps, white sand, calm and crystalline turquoise water, world-class windsurfing, tropical breezes and not a person in sight in either direction every time I've been. (mid-week ;-)

That's true bliss.

Swampy_Bogtrotter
Browns Bay, in Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland.
It's home. Nice and secluded. Untouched and unspoilt. A beautifull spot.

And

Lignano Beach, in north east Italy.
It's busy, lively, beautifull, and has lots of topless ladies ;-)

:
I really like Cornish beaches. On the Liskerd when you walk round the coastal path, you come across secret beaches with little bits of history connected with them. Rough interesting beaches that seem to draw you into them selves from the present to a time gone by.

Shell Beach on Big Sur California (we saw sea otters) and a little bay just off the road between Alghero and Capocaccia in Sardinia - idyllic cove, clear water, overlooked by an ancient fort - and a friendly cat who comes and sits with you.

Fort Desoto Park in St. Petersburg, FL. It's on an island in the Gulf of Mexico. The sand is white. The water is crystal clear. Many days, you can watch the dolphins. There are parking and facilities because it's a park, but they are quite some distance from the beach, which makes the beach enjoyable.

Rogue Angel
Green Sand beach on the Big Island (hawaii)---required a 2 mile hike or off-road vehice to get go it, went swimming with sea turtles and as the name implies the sand is green!!!

runner up:
Race Point Beach on Cape Cod--- with an off-road vehicle permit you can drive your 4X4 down the Cape Cod National Seashore(60 miles of undeveloped sandy shoreline) and find your own stretch of beach, once there sit and watch pods of grey seals swim by all day and have a bon-fire at night(as long as you get a fire permit from the ranger station)

There are many...Seychelles, Maldives, Cape Verde, Dominican Republic, St Lucia, Tobago, Dubai...but my favourite was the Grande Anse Beach in Grenada. It's miles and miles of sand with a warm azure sea gently lapping the shore.

littlemissdolittle
Pretty much ALL of the beaches in Australia.

Some of them are so isolated that you can have kilometres of beautiful sandy beach to yourself all day!

MomSezNo
Salamon Bay beach in St. John USVI. Practically deserted [you have to hike about a mile to get to it, unless you take a boat], perfect water, no "facilities" [just sand, sun and trees].... Perfect!

Bognor regis without doubt.

The smell of old whelks permeates the seafront right up to the broken pier.

I just love it.

st petes beach florida,on the gulf of Mexico, crystal white sand, and the sea is so inviting to cool of in ,then watch the sun go down over the gulf ,brilliant

NYC fan
I'm going to go against the fun-in-the-sun grain here.

The coast of the Pacific Ocean's Resurrection Bay in Seward, Alaska.

Cool, misty, beautiful view. Whales, otters, bald eagles.

I also enjoy New York's Coney Island.

Baie aux Prunes in St. Martin N.A.

it was beautiful scenery and no people. I loved the peace and quiet of just me, my girl, the ocean and the sand.

Luskentyre - Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides, Scotland.
It is a massive expanse of golden, untouched sand, with mountains in the background and the wild Atlantic ocean pounding.
It's remote, - no people, no cafes - just you and the world. Its a spiritual experience if ever there was one.
