flamingo - on the strip with all the expensive places ut half the cost - and you can go to all of them your room should be for a 2-3 hour nap and to keep your bag

also one of the most important things is the pool - theres is good but the hard rock has a CRAZY pool

It depends on what you mean by best, here are a list of best hotels in vegas and for what reason:

Best appearence and elegance: Bellagio & Venetian
(hands down the priciest and nicest - the Wynn also competes very closely with them. In addition to looking great they also have the best buffets and highest limits in gambling available).

Best hotel for price: Luxor and NewYorkNewYork
(Both have very nice rooms, very good location on the strip, and have great restaurants and gaming - you can find cheaper hotels, but not ones that get you more for your money)

Best overall Hotel (in my opinion): MGM Grand
Pretty much the biggest hotel on the strip, it still has the largest casino floor, very trendy bars, lounges and clubs with good room rates and some of the best restaurants in town. In addition it has the KA the cirque du Soleil show which has a customized theater, very nice. With the monorail connecting directly into the bar/casino area this place is easy to access and fun to play at.

Wish I were there. Hope this helps.

Venetian
5 stars

Good reviews at Tripadvisor.com - you really want to go and check peoples reviews for any hotel you are interested in, I do it all the time at they are pretty accurate.

The Wynn is the best right now, I stayed there last year and it was absolutely stunning

the venician is supposed to be really amazing. it has canals going through it and it looks like a street in venice...

I've heard the Venetian and the Bellagio are nice. However, I stayed in the Luxor and that was cool!!! Awesome hotel.

ALSO, I've heard LOTS about The Wynn and some people say you can't beat it. It's a new hotel.

Jeff
One of the newest and I think the best Hotels in Las Vegas is the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. It will definately be the next and best 5 Diamond property in LV.

Kell
The NY NY has been our favorite! We enjoy the atmosphere, the food, the family fun this hotel offers. They also offer wonderful package deals.

Hardball.
Venetian has a wax museum type of place.
Mandalay Bay has a cool aquarium with tons of fish
Flamingo is pretty cheap.Okay pool
Anyway, you need a cheap place because its not like you'll be hanging out at your hotel all day!
Bellagio is nice, no sleep, but its sooo expensive. WATER!!
My favorite was Aladin because of the resturants and the mediterranean aura. I love Vegas..i used to live there!

Depends a lot on your own personal preference.
Do you want to stay on the strip or on? Is your idea of 'best' mean 'best value' or highest quality?

We have stayed at: Treasure Island, Rio, Flamingo, Luxor, MGM grand.

In order from best to worst (in our opinion):

Rio - had the best rooms and best service - lousy for gambling though :) (for us!)

Flamingo- very nice. Best all around hotel. Could use some updates

Luxor - nice rooms, but the staff were very rude while we were there. I dont know if there was something going on management-wise, but the employees of the hotel and the casino were not as friendly as we are used to.

MGM grand - like any mariott you would find in Idaho or Ohio

Treasure Island - great value, rooms nothing special. Best strip hotel for budget conscious travellers.

The best as " value"
