I've been ALL over America, and I continue to think the best is New York City, New York (Manhattan). It's great for everything - plays, art, museums, food, and history. It's got pretty much everything.
D.C. is better if you're into politics. It's got a lot of monuements and a white house tour.
Vegas is awesome if you're into gambling - but it gets old quick. If you don't like a lot of fast paced action this city isn't for you.
Los Angeles is cool if you like the movies and the beach. You can tour universal studios and see how the movies are made. They have awesome sushi too.
If you're going in winter and like skiing or nature - go to Colorado.
Overall I like manhattan the best though. |

That all depends on what kind of weather and terrain you like...
Hawaii is beautiful, so are Alaska, California, the East Coast, PA, etc. |

That depends on some items, such as budget, by airplane/train/car/etc. I think Northern Arizona ha a lot of nice things such as the Petrified forests, the Grand Canyon, etc |

That all depends on what you like and what you find interesting. Try being more specific. |

Depends. What are you there for? American history? If so, go to Boston, there is a lot of history there. Skiing? The Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Beaches, try Southern California, Hawaii or Florida. |

I've been to a great many places in America, from upstate New York to Miami, from the Black Hills in South Dakota to the deserts in Arizona (it's quite lovely in the spring), but my favorite place would have to be Northern California.
The Sierra Nevada mountains is the prettiest mountain range on this continent. The shorelines are gorgeous. There are some of the most mind-boggling red wood forests you can ever hope to come across. Of course, you can't forget San Fransisco, which is the coolest damn city in the entire country. =D San Fran has something for everyone. |

Well, like everyone else has said it depends what you like, but since you haven't specified...
I'd go with California. You have the beaches, skiing in the mountains, beautiful nature, big cities (my personal faovurite is San Francisco), some wonderful art museums, theme parks, the desert. Rent a car, drive around and explore.
New York city would be my second selection. Great city, and the first time I visited it felt eerily familiar and exciting at the same time. |

In Canada, I would say OLd Quebec in Quebec, or if your into nature The Queen Charlotte islands in Britsih columbia, breath taking forests and whale watching. Of course there is way more then that.
In the States...the best vacation I have ever had was when my boyfriend and I went to New Orleans, it has everything. History, bar hopping with amazing music, the entire french quarter is lisenced so you can take your drinks every where. Ghost tours, 6flags theme park. I went before Katrina so I am thinking you should see what is still open. There's even a sea world and a Bayou tour.
Mexico had to be the Mayan Rivera. Beautiful beaches warm sun, lots of History.
I wansn't sure what part of America you were referring to. |
