The US is just as varied as all of Europe. What you define as the best depends on what you are looking for..
What most people define as the best here usually starts getting very expensive and sometimes if the area does not have what you like, it may not be the best to you.
Do you like beaches and a slow life style? Beaches and a very busy lifestyle?
Do you prefer warm dry weather or do you like warm wet weather?
Do you like mountains and snow or do you like historical areas.
Historical areas where lots of people of your background live or historical areas where it is really close and tight knit (but they may or may not accept you in the community)
I will give you a list of the areas that I think most people like here and why and you can take your pick.
Miami Florida
Pros: Great Caribbean-like weather, good food, vibrant local scene. Nice clubs awesome beaches.
Cons: Hurricane season. You may have to leave your home 2-3 times a year because of the destructive hurricanes. Property is very expensive to buy or rent there.
New York City, NY
Pros: The city that never sleeps. Great for nightlife and seeing awesome sights on a daily basis. Great mix of people and entertainment choices.
Cons: Busy, a bit dirty and people aren't so friendly. Cold in the winter.
Atlanta, GA
Pros: Great center for business and finding a job easily. They have very mild winters and really warm summers (almost too warm). There is alot of opportunity to shop and do cultural activities. The cost of living is low compared to the salaries that can be made here.
Cons: The summers here are very warm and humid. Some people can deal with it and others stay indoors nearly all summer. Most people do not stay in the city itself but in one of the many suburbs that surround it.
Los Angeles, California (or anywhere in California)
Pros: Great weather. Lots to do. The status of living in that state makes others jealous.
Cons: Traffic, smog, congestion and high cost of living could put a damper on this dream. |

Well for urban life...
Shoot for California, New York, Massachusetts, Illinois...
Totes the best. |

I would say that Texas is the best place to live in the US. Opportunities are plentiful, Housing inexpensive and the people are friendly. There is a good balance between large cities, college towns and rural areas. We are the second largest state with great beaches and awesome shopping. There is something for everyone here and everyone is welcome (As long as they don't throw trash on our highways). As you will discover Texans like to party and pray. |

it depends..
if you like the rain.. Washington, Oregon
sun.. California, Florida, Arizona, Hawaii
cold.. Alaska, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Washington
I personally love Colorado, Washington, California, Florida and Idaho.
i live in Washington, so i don't like hot weather
there's also regions that have tornados and hurricanes. The Northwest RARELY gets ANYTHING there. We get mild floods.
it's all about what you like. add on to the question. |

depends on what you like...warm or cold......water or no water...........floods or tornadoes...........rich or poor...........cities or towns...........big or small......north or south...east or west......... that should be a place to start researching. |

I really doubt that you will be moving to the US. Only way to do that is with a work visa. To get one you need to be sponsored by an employer and have a skill in demand. If you have both of those, your destination in the US has already been chosen by your employer. |

California! If you want one of the healthiest and most progressive states(we even had gay marriage rights for a while, before the religious bigots decided they didn't like it - oh, don't get me started on them!!), this is the place to be! Not to mention we have great weather here in southern Cali. We have everything you could ask for: mountains, lakes, rivers, the beach, the dessert, you name it! :) |
