Given the choice between not so good(Sahara) and awful(CC) I would go with, not so good. There is no reason to, there are some great spots in LV that actually cost less(if that was your concern)
The Stratosphere is not that far away from those two, as all are on the North end of the strip, but the Stratosphere is much nicer. And the Strat has an adults & hotel guests only, European pool.
Stratosphere
http://www.stratospherehotel.com
Call 1-888-236-7495 for reservations and ask for the online special $39 Sun/Thur $79 Fri/Sat - available June 3rd to July 31st except for the week of July 3rd to the 7th
Sam's Town is not on the strip but it's a very nice place to, stay/play/eat & have fun. ST also has very nice free shuttles to several locations on the strip & downtown.
http://www.samstownlv.com
they have a special rate from May 28th until September 27th. Call 1-800-634-6371 and ask for the "Super Summer Special" $26.99 Sun/Thur
Orleans
http://www.orleanscasino.com
The Orleans is one mile West of the strip on Tropicana, but they have a free shuttle to the center of the strip and over to the Gold Coast which is next door to 2 of the top party hotels in LV the Palms & Rio.
http://www.travelworm.com has a special going for the Orleans >it's selling out fast< from May 6th to August 30th $48 for the first night, Sun/Thur 2nd night free. You can stay all five nights and get 2 nights free. Avg nightly rate $28.80 for 5 nights.
We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. Next trip, June 6th - July 5th(30 days) - I have stayed at each of those hotels several times, we spend 1-2(or more) weeks a year at the Orleans.
If you have a Q, feel free to send me an anonymous e-mail through YA.

DO NOT STAY AT CIRCUS CIRCUS..
I stayed at Sarah a couple of years ago. While it was great for cheap gambling ($3 BJ and Craps). It sucks for location.
If this is your first time to Vegas I'd recommend staying closer to the center of the strip. Perhaps MGM or Luxor. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay perhaps the Excalibur |

I think the sahara would be better circus circus is geared toward families with kids. |

Personally, unless you like a lot of rug rats running around, I would definitely stay at the Sahara. Another couple of reasons to stay at the Sahara are 1) it's a monorail stop and 2) I like their $3.00 blackjack tables.
Have a great time!! |

Absolutely neither they are both dumps....and their location is terrible. Stay more in the center, Bills( which is the old barbary coast )is great location and spectacular price and is acrossed street from caesars and bellagion. Ballys next to bills is great, harrahs but the people there are usually older. The flaming is a great location. As far as looking for people your age to party with theres 3 great places all off strip, Palms is REAL HOT now, Rio as well real cool and the Hard Rock.....id strongly suggest Palms with about 6 GREAT bars/clubs including the new Playboy Club and Moon among a group of top of the line clubs and a great casino floor as well. Good luck, just got back from my 2nd trip in 8 months |

Whatever you do don't stay at Circus Circus! It's always under construction and the place is basically a dump. I am not familiar with Saraha, but it must be better than Circus Circus. Last time I stayed at New York New York which is a nice hotel, but the gambling is expensive! I ended up having a blast at the Stratosphere - they've got $5 poker tables and the round bar is cool too. |

Neither. Young people stay at the Hard Rock or Palm.(off strip unfortunately)
On the Strip (budget minded) try The Mirage, Treasure Island or even Monte Carlo.
Also, you may find good value (upgrade from Circus Circus is either the Luxor or Excalibur (all three are the same ownership)
If you have only the two choice you mentioned, Sahara is the better of the two. Both are at the end of the Strip (Sahara the further) |

Both of them are old, run down hotels. If you must pick between the two, go with The Sahara.
Try Treasure Island. It's an older hotel but not run-down. It's not incredibly expensive and the food there is good. |

The Sahara !! Circus Circus caters to families. You will find a lot of children and very long lines to eat, check in, and check out. |

between the two the sarahah...i spent spring break there with 3 of my buddies...its cheap but it is connected to the monorail so getting to the bigger hotels couldnt be easier...get the three day pass if you can unlimited rides for 72 for $40 not a bad deal...anyway it has lower limit games as well and its a smaller casino soyou wont get overwhelmed...the rooms arent great but they are much better than the circus circus.
if you wanna see what people think of both hotles google vegas hotel reviews and see for yourself |

I stayed at Circus Circus in 2004 had a great time, never stayed at the Sahara, also nice across from Circus is the Riviera. You will get the best rates at these hotels. Hey, your in Vegas it doesnt matter where you stay, enjoy and have a great time. |

No, DON'T stay at Circus Circus. It's all messed up. I don't know Sahara very well but Red Rock is a new one that just opened and it's very nice. It's not right on the strip but it's still nice. |

I those are the only two choices, I would say Circus Circus. Sahara has the roller coaster, but you can walk across the street for that. Circus is closer to other things like Caesars, etc. I think it is better, if those are the only two choices. When are you going to be in Vegas? |

neither, Stay away from Circus Circus.
Your 21?? Spend the extra cash and stay at MGM. Location/still hip and youthful.
Off the strip The Palms or The Hard Rock.
If I had to pick pne of the two. Sahara |
