Electronic Music...specifically techno. Juan Atkins, Derrick Mays and Kevin Saunderson were the founding fathers of the techno and were born and raised in metro Detroit. Richie Hawtin Windosor, Ontario, Canada) has also had a huge impact on the sound. I'm not the only one who feels this way, as is evident by the million plus people who journey to downtown Detroit every Memorial Day weekend for the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (that is the original name; it has been Fuse In Detroit and Movement since).

It's the armpit of America, think of the worst neighborhood in Washington DC then multiply it by 100= Detroit.

Then the suburbs around it including but not limited to Dearborn might as well be called Hezbhollahland / AlQuedaville, USA.
