Precisely as of this week the USA had its 300,000,000 citizen. Now that is not counting non-citizens or illegal aliens which have been estimated at another 10-15% of the previous total.

Just in the news the other day- passed the 3 million mark, although I am certain it is more, since they probably didn't include all the illegal immigrants.
