I'm a light packer, so I'd pack little. May be some extra underwear just in case I dont have time to wash. I would prefer buy something new instead of washing. After I wear those new clothes, wash after I get back and wrap em back neatly to give my friends as souvenirs.

Dont tell my friends...,

When you are going on a trip, depending on where you are staying, it may be a pain to find the time or a place to wash your clothes. However, you don't have to pack a lot of stuff, you just have to pack smart. Pack things that you can wear mulitiple times and multiple ways without them getting too funky, like jeans. You can dress jeans or up or down and you can wear them a few times without washing them. Bring something nice if the occasion arises and also bring basics that you can mix and match. Chances are nobody will notice you are just recycling different pieces. Try to bring only two pairs of shoes. One that is nice and another pair that can go with just about any outfit. One pair of PJ's should be okay , but of course, don't skimp on socks and undies. Basically, plan it out. Don't just throw things in the suitcase because you really like them. Everything should kind of go together. I recommend laying everything out on your bed before you pack it, so you have a good idea of what your overall trip wardrobe looks like. You may have to make sacrifices, but you won't end up four days into your trip thinking, "I have nothing left to wear."

I went to Europe for two week and 1 carry-on suitcase; here is how I did it:

roll your under clothes and socks as tight as you can...place these on the bottom of your suitcase.

take only 1 pair of shoes...tennis shoes or loafers are the best; you can dress up or down with these.

travel size toiletries are great--except for deodorant, use the real deal.

I took 3 shorts and 1 blue jeans...again roll these they take up less room in your suitcase. Wear these more than once.

shirts, again roll these...careful not to crease them....I took both t-shirts and polo shirts.

Traveling through Europe was a great place to leave some of my older clothes.....this leaves room for souvenirs and the all important new clothes that you will buy. You will be surprised at the amount of T Shirts, and other clothing that you purchase....

you can take some laundry soap for your undies and the occasional shirt....it is a great idea to take shout wipes or the like to remove those spots.

you can wash by hand and hang on hangars in hotel room...works for me..I try and limit it to one suitcase per person..and not a big monster suitcase. We buy handwashing detergent.

Pack a little. Take shout wipes and febreeze. Wear a shirt to dinner with your pants and then use it with your shorts the next day. Mix and match - keep basic colors so you can

travel light-its always a good idea, unless you like dressing up.

purple_puke6
pack a little.. buy the rest

I travel for a living. I like to pack light. Most hotels either have laundry service or washers and driers for their guests.

Nelson_DeVon
I pack enough for a week, and wash in the middle.

I like to pack for 1 week, then do laundry half way through. Have fun!

MY PERSONAL philosophy on it is, Don't be left hanging, when you wanna o out on a whim. Take all you can put into 2 suitcases, and have a blast! Then wash THERE as the need arises!

I prefer to pack few items and wash. You are visiting another area, and if you font know anyone there, what does it matter if you wear the same thing over and over (As long as it's clean).
