What is the weather like in Las Vegas in July?

We are considering going to Vegas for our Honeymoon next July. If so, we are staying at the Luxor hotel. Everyone I have talked to that has been there says don't go in the summer. The reason was because the weather is way too hot. Could anyone let me know if the heat is that intense during that time?

Way too hot!! In the 100's. I went in June one year and it was like 115. It was miserable!! You are practically in the middle of the desert!! I would NOT reccommend going in July.

diamante_morena
Hades!

Don't even bother being outside during the daylight hours. Sleep in! Play at night. But really, who sleeps in Vegas HAHAHA

Zaymee
SUPER HOT AND SWEATY..like in the 100's.

For July, the average temp is 104. The record high is 116.

I'm used to the miserable, humid heat of St. Louis. When it's 100F here it feels like 120F. I've been to vegas in June and August. I thought it was brilliant! The heat of Vegas doesn't bother me, because you don't sweat. I'd gladly take the oven of Las Vegas over St. Louis humidity any day!

Plus, the summertime was a lot cheaper in Vegas. You'll find good hotel rates and the crowds won't be as bad. Everywhere has air conditioning and during the day you'll either be inside or tanning at the pool. If you come from somewhere with awful humidity, Vegas will be a welcome break in July.

i went to Vegas in September(the end of september), and it was very hot. I am from upstate NY, so take that into consideration, but I can imagine that the heat will only be compounded in July.

i lived in vegas my whole life. and every july is the same. over 100 degrees everyday and very humid. but since you're on your honeymoon, heat wont matter. only if you're walking on the strip but i recommend going places at night. or taxis. but the luxors next to a lot of places so you wont be in the sun too long

I live here. July & Aug are the hottest months. This 4th of July was 116. & It is rarely humid!! We are the driest city in the US!! But yes it will be very hot!!!! The norm durring the day is 113 in July & Aug. The night time stays around 98. Good luck.

Las Vegas Weather - July

It's hot. Above 105, it feels like you are walking into an oven when you walk outside. On a windy day, it feels like you are walking into a convection oven.

Highs - 105 to 120
Lows - upper 80's

Humidity - about 3%

115 degress with 3% humidity feels like 95 degrees with 80% humidity.

I do not turn my car A/C on until it gets over 100 degrees. Well... unless otherwise ordered to do so by the wife.

Here are a few ways to help beat the heat:
1. Stay properly hydrated. Because of the low humidity, you sweat and won't hardly notice as it is evaporated so quickly. Use your urine as a guide. If you are properly hydrated, your urine should be close to a clear appearance. The more yellow your urine, the more dehydrated you are.

2. Wear light clothing, both in material weight and color.

3. Wear a hat. A brim that goes all around is best. I wear one of those broad-brimmed military bush hats.

4. Stay indoors. There are several sections of Strip hotels that are inter-connected with walkways. You do not have to go outside to go from one to the other. Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur are all connected. Caesars and the Mirage are also connected.

The weather is nice, not to hot to stop you from doing anything but hot enough to feel it. I've been a few time but August was the hottest.

The only problem you will have is that the hotels are freezing, the must set their air con at 60 - 70, keep stepping in and out really does start to make you feel ill. It's a weird feeling walking in 100 with a jumper under your arm for when you got in a hotel.

Vegas is in the middle of a desert. In July its hot as H E L L, but its a dry hot so for someone visiting Vegas from the south it isn't going to effect them to bad.

eric l
Hot and dry. Temperatures go over 100 degrees F. I suggest you stay inside for most of the time. Go out at night time when it is in the 80's.
Inside is all air conditioned. You will still have fun. It is just that most of it will be indoors.
The web site below has the history of Las Vegas i Africa.

It is hot (upper 90's to 100's) and dry in the summer. But the hotel is air conditioned and being on a honeymoon, I doubt you will be walking the streets too much...

Take care.

um 85-95 at night 110-115 in the day... don't go outside
remember its a dry heat.... you will suffer... like hell :)

HOT!!!! But it is a dry heat. You won't be outside too much during the day and at night you don't have to battle the sun. If sunbathing is in your plans then make sure you go into the sun first thing in the morning or very late in the afternoon. The Luxor is connected to Excalibur and Mandalay Bay so you don't have to go outside too much. Then you can walk to MGM and NYNY with limited sun exposure. You won't have to worry about rain at all. July is part of the slow season because of the heat. Most people do not mind it though. Always have a bottle of water with you at all times. That is a must. You can dehydrate very fast and not know it is happening. Have fun. Good luck in your marriage.
