I have lived in Denver nearly all of my life, and I have an uncle in Chicago whom I visit regularly, so I think I can compare the two pretty accurately. On average, the temp in Denver seems to be about 10 degrees hotter than it is in Chicago proper, during the summer. I would say our winters are pretty comparable, except the lake-front effect in Chicago makes it feel colder than it actually is. No lakes here in Denver! We're land-locked, so we don't get the lake-front effect. Also, we have a quite dry climate here in Denver, so we don't get hardly any humidity like Chicago does. When it's hot, it's a dry heat, which is more comfortable. I personally prefer the Denver weather to Chicago weather by a great deal.

It isn't colder than chicago. Lately the weather has been cool, like small jacket weather. We have had some hot days. But not many. I live 100 miles from Denver and 30 minutes from Springs. Springs is almost always just right except when it snows. Have fun while you are here. There is so much to see.

It's windy right now, but it's usually really sunny, Denver is like one of the sunniest cities. In the summer it usually around the high 80's with some days in the 70's or 90's. Next week is going to be really nice and in the mid eighties. I think if you go to the weather channel.com you can type in the zip code and it will show you the forecast. I'm not sure if the weather is like Chicago because I've never been, but I think it might be warmer. The mountains are cool during the summer at around 60's and 70's, but Denver and Co. Spgs. aren't in the mountains and I know Co. Spgs. is always pretty hot in the summer.

It's a different kind of heat. During the day it is hot, but it rains in the afternoon most days and ends up cooling down in the evening.

Compared to Chicago, you should expect cooler evenings and a lot less humidity!

Yeah, it can be colder. Although it's a different cold, generally speaking. Chicago's SO damp, and CO is the dry cold that yanks the air out of your throat. CO is also known for being sunny but below zero. CO's weather is also weird. I've worn shorts in January (and not just to be crazy, it really was that cold) and I've seen it snow in June & August.
Right now though, it's pretty toasty.
