What is there to do in Detroit between midnight and noon?

There isn't alot going on at that time. Everything closes at 2:00. The Greyhound station isn't far from the center of downtown Detroit, I say take a stroll downtown( you won't get shot), maybe hit up a club then at 2:00 go back to the station and go to sleep.

Toronto is a little over 4 hours by car from the City of Detroit...and you have a 12 hour layover?
If you can, DRIVE to Toronto. That is just ridiculous of a wait.

Plus you will be leaving a fantastic, diverse, vibrant, cultured city like Toronto and spending 12 hours in Detroit?
Talk about a buzz kill. But it will probably be a great lesson about what COULD BE for a waterfront city.

Go to sleep because Detroit is not safe at night between the midnight and 8 AM.

1st stop eat at either American Coney island or Lafayette coney island (next to each other downtown) Both Detroit institutions---never know who you will see in there and the food is good and cheap. Not sure where the downtown bus station is but my guess is walking distance. Next---- Detroit is dead in the dead of the night so get over to one of the three casinos---I recommend Greektown (walking distance from the Coney island, Wander the block of Greektown until the bars close (2:30 am). I'm a Detroit booster and hate to say it but nothing but casinos going on from 2:30 am or so until dawn. Not safe to walk around alone downtown so unfortunately stick around the casino until dawn---at least you will be safe. As soon as the people mover starts running in the morning take a full loop of Detroit (there is a people mover station connected to the Greektown casino---in fact take two loops. It's only about fifty cents and it's a great view. You see blight but you also see great views like the river and you see progress---lofts going up and things.Walk slowly back to bus station taking in some great downtown architechture---the art deco Guardian building is notable---wander through if you have time. Detroit has no mass transit so unfortunately the things I would normally recommend won't be accessable to you : (

Sleep. There's erally nothing else to do. They have a killer mall though. Ooh go to Auburn hills and see the Ken Pavis Salon. He does Jessica Simpsons Hair. It's Awesome

id say find something to do at the airport ,, last time i went to detroit it was scary , please be careful. i am serious. if it was day i would still be leery. especially since you dont live in that area.

The bus station is a short walk or cab ride to the MGM casino. The casino has a lot going on and you should be able to find something you like. You can also go over to the Greektown casino.

There are some good bars to go to but they all close at 2:00 a.m.

The Downtown area of Detroit is safe and you will have nothing to worry about in the area that you are at.

laffeyette coney island definetly!!! stay out of american coney though!!!! not as good and the interior will make you sick and give you the spins if your drinking!!!(very bright and gaudy)

Probably nothing but if you go across the river to Windsor... there is a lot because the bars there are open all night and the drinking age is like 18 or 19 and the casino is open too. windsor is a lot nicer than detroit. However, Detroit air port is not even close to this area - I'd stay at the airport and sleep!

Dang the D aint that bad. The comments make it sound like if dude is not in a safe building he gonna be dead. Downtown isnt nearly as bad as the rest of the city, just dont trip over the homeless. Yeah if u gonna be downtown casinos baby, but if ya win dont let nobody know cause yeah I will admit you will get robbed, hell Id even think about it and Im a cool guy.

Ummmmmmm. I suggest hiding somewhere. That area isnt great during the daylight hours let alone midnight. I actually saw my very first hooker there. Good luck and I hope you dont end up on the news
