Here are a few things:

1. Drink at clubs and lounges - RAIN (PALMS casino) and PURE (Caesar's Palace) are amongst the best two clubs with the best dance floors, decor, and setup. There is also Tao (Venetian) and Tangerine (Treasure Island). You should load up a little on store bought liquor to cut down on the amount of overpriced drinks at clubs.

2. If you're into rides, then the roller coaster at NEWYORK NEWYORK casino is the best roller coaster in Vegas. There is also the Big Shot and INSANITY rides atop of the Stratosphere Casino (with the best views in the city, as good as a helicopter view). Rides are a good way to kill some time and entertain yourself for a while without dropping a wad of cash.

3. Eat at buffets and other great restaurants. Buffets like Bellagio's or Wynn's have trancended the common buffet of stale food. They serve gourmet dishes like Kobe beef and hand made desserts. Great food, good service, clean and fun atmosphere. You'll definately enjoy this. There are also great buffets for cheaper at Monte Carlo and Luxor - great variety and best buffet for your dollar.

4. Watch the sunrise by staying up all night and partying and then seeing the drunks and broke gamblers barely make it back to their hotel rooms in the early morning. It is the quietiest time in Vegas, and a little relaxing. You can really see how Vegas can ruin you for those that you see are completely distraught over losing - but its a good way to keep your sanity while you there, which costs you nothing.

5. Go swimming and treat yourself to a massage. This will be fun. When you get out of the pool, you can feel the heat radiating on your back and your feet will feel warmer than getting out of the pool anywhere else. It feels good, and then getting a massage later will be the perfect way to settle into a fun night. Something about swimming in the heat as the sun is going down in the Vegas desert is relaxing and calming. This will cost little to nothing.

6. You can shop at the FORUM in Caesar's Palace or the Passage at the Hollywood Planet Casino. They have the widest selection and the nicest shops. There is, of course, the Las Vegas Premium Outlets just off the strip that any taxi can take you to - good deals there!

7. You can watch the fountains at Bellagio, the Fremont Street Light Show in downtown, and catch a Cirque Du Soleil show (such as KA at MGM Grand or 'O' at Bellagio - those are my favorite). Just enjoy yourself and have fun, dont plan out every little thing.

8. Tips for gambling - stay away from slots, unless you just want to kill some time or you really are not into table games. Play blackjack, but play in particular at the Las Vegas Club in downtown (best odds of any blackjack table in vegas) and play poker at the very late hours (after 2-3am) when the drunks and stragglers come in just waiting to dump money. When you bet on blackjack, try progressive style - you bet and if you win, double that bet - and keep doubling until you win 3 times in a row or lose a hand, then go back down your standard bet. I've won a lot this way very quickly.

Lucky you, have fun - wish I was going too. Hope this helps

My family and I got a pretty good deal for a room(2 queen beds) at the Luxor...a really neat hotel on the strip. They have a huge "Pharaoh's Pheast Buffet" for breakfast/lunch that is great and not expensive at all. There are also free circus shows often at "Circus Circus".

boo hoo
I have been to Las Vegas 3 times and it is NOT BORING.It is an amazing place, something for everyone, if you stay away from the slots you can have a fairly cheap vacation. Have fun

I agree with Stardust about the buffet at the Luxor it's the best.Dont miss the Mirage volcano at night,Bellagio fountains, tigers at the MGM grand very cool you can walk right under them. The downtown area is very fun for gambling on freemont street. It's impossible to drive down the strip so take the bus.The monorail stops behind the casinos and it's a waste of time and money. You can get a 24 hour bus pass on a double decker bus for $5 dollars and it stops in front of every casino. It goes downtown to freemont.

I went to in May of 2006.
We went to "House of Blues" in the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
They had FREE karaoke night a few nights a week!!! With a live band. We did not sing, just watched.
It was HILARIOUS and best of all it was FREE!!! Check it out and see if they still have it.

Vegas is the best town ever, stay up till dawn friday saturday for sure - the best music - the best alcohol - the best looking people - neon lights - drink responsibly and stay away from those wedding chapels if u dont have that on the itinerary when u leave home....

The Las Vegas Weekly (pick from any gas station) has great places to eat and the price range too, making it easier for you to plan and not be surprised. It has the clubs - entry fees - specials....etc...

Plus the hotel you are in should give plenty of dicsounts too...
Have a blast !!!

we got a great deal for a hotel from travelocity.com for the tropicana, which has nice rooms and an incredible location in the heart of the strip! there is so much free stuff to do! just visiting all the interestingly themed and intricately designed mega-hotels like New York, New York , Paris, Caesar's Palace and the Luxor is a blast, we spent several afternoons just touring them all! some of them have free little shows like the masquerade in the sky at The Rio, the amazing dancing fountains and flower/ butterfly conservatory at the Bellagio, the pirate show at T.I., the erupting volcano at the Mirage, etc. The best bargain for getting around is a double decker bus that you can hop on and off all along the strip, which will also take you to the outlet mall. in the mgm hotel (inside the giant coke bottle) they sell discounted tickets to all the concerts, plays, shows, and exibits (including the BODIES exhibit- which is a MUST SEE) anyways, good luck and have a great time! i hope this helps!

Las Vegas is nowhere near boring.. to the girl who replied.

Its fun if you know where to go... most first timers who go think its boring because they dont have a clue on what to do..

Ok ... for buffets.. the luxor buffet is good, theres also a good seafood buffet in the Rio.

If you are bored there a lots of shows to see... blue man group, magic shows.. all kinds.......

and if you are 21 and over it makes it actually FUN.

clubs--- i suggest PURE nightclub.. (by far the best club ever)

located in cesars palace..

theres LOTS of clubs... at least one in every hotel on the strip.

if you have kids and want to keep them entertained ... shows are good and rides/rollercoasters..

you can go up to stratosphere tower and thats pretty cool...

the more money you have... the MORE fun you'll have..

oh and if you go to PURE nightclub.. VIP is great there.

theres a lot more things but ill just stop there.

kappy
skip the nightclubs, they are not cheap, there are plenty of nice bars in the casinos

the1tkdfool
man perfect answer for you im going to vegas at the end of the month i found if you go on ebay you can get club packages for under 20$ multiple clubs. also if you call some of the casinos you dont have to stay there to get discounts to shows or to the clubs that they offer... get on the phone and call around and google everything for vegas. there are many fun things that you will find just happening on the strip take a walk it may be hot but you will enjoy it the casinos do get alil stuffy sometimes explore

Tommy
What to do in Vegas????? Oh wow...it's so boring there....no action at all. Save your money and go to Fargo.

Absolutely nothing, sorry. It's a boring town. ;-)

When my hubby and I go we take a night and just walk through the casinos. Each one is so different and there's so much to see and it doesn't cost a darn thing!
