I have been to New Orleans on quite a few occasions... I can honestly say it never has left me with any lasting impressions. Even before Katrina hit it was a dirty, smelly, over-crowded city. I likely will never visit there again. |

Walking through the mostly empty streets of the French Quarter at four in the morning, watching the fog drift in from the river, feeling the ghosts wander past, feeling the history steeped into the flagstones, smelling the coffee and beignets mingle with that musty odor only New Orleans has. When the tourists have all gone to bed, the Quarter is mine to wander and dream. |

I live in new orleans, and I have so many wonderful memories with my friends at restaurants, bars, and concerts.
Some of my best memories are JazzFest |

My favorite memory was coming home from school and hanging with my best friend, Reggie. We would walk to the bayou near our home and just chill out for hours waiting for the sunset. We lived in a poor neighborhood(7th ward) and the bayou was our sanctuary. I miss New Orleans and Reggie(now in Denver). I can't wait to go back when everything is fixed. |

EVERYTHING
i've been all over the U.S.
and new orleans is by far one of the best cities. it has something no other city has. Culture. the Cajuns, Cajun and creol food, jazz blues and zydeco music. the seafood, Crawfish boils, the coffee, morning call, the festivals. the cajun language. the traditions. Ghost huntings and voodoo. River boat cruises, Mardi Gras, alligators and crabbing. Bourbon street and the French Quarter. Harry Connic jr. Their famous drink the hurricane. Their buildings are hundreds of years old and have such history behind them. The spanish and french architecture is amazing. when you step into the city you can smell something special in the atmosphere, and its beautiful
and that is .. THe Spirit Of New Orleans |

I remember this little old lady walking around in a black cloak and a shiney black motorcycle helmet. She was talking to people that weren't there. I also loved all the street entertainers. Especially on a Saturday night. MMMMmmm the croissants on the balcony in the morning as we watched them clean the streets. The drunks passed out on the sidewalks with urine trailing down from them to the gutter....the cafe du monde... |
