People from other states and countries don't realize how big the place is.
They also think we are knuckle dragging Neanderthals that still lynch people and have IQ's of tree stumps.
I set them straight with our many contributions to technology and space exploration.
I also set them straight about the fact that our current president was actually born, raised and educated on the East Coast. Maybe if he had gone to the University of Texas instead of to an exclusive prep school, Yale and Harvard we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now. |

Texas is the only state in the US that used to be it's own country. We deigned to join in the US because we felt sorry for them, and they begged us. If Texas were still a country, it would be the fifth largest economy in the world. El Paso (far west Texas) is closer to the Pacific Ocean than it is from Texarkana in east Texas. The city of Houston is 850 square miles. Yes, you read that right. From the north airport to my place just south of town is 65 miles. Bet you can get to another state/country after you drive that far. I go that far to visit my sister. |

I am not a Texan, but I lived there for 3 years. When someone asks me what it was like I tell them....There was a lot of money there, the economy is excellent all the time, the drivers are kind, the men do not respect women very much (worst I've ever seen), the people are attractive, it is one of the most well kept states and the shopping is awesome. |

Endless possibilities on things to do! It all depends on what part of the state you are in and the culture is always changing. |
