What kind of people hang around Somerset Mall, in Troy Michigan?

I can't believe no one has answered this correctly:

There are 2 sides of Somerset Mall. The origianl side, home to Saks and Neiman Marcus, Betsy Johnson, Oililly and Crate-n-Barrel attracts one type of shopper.. a wealthy one.
Then you cross over the pedestrian bridge to the other side and it is a regular, american shopping mall: Nordstrom, Macy's, Eddie Bauer, Gap, Bath&Body, etc.

The restaurants on both sides tend to be upscale: Capital Grille, McCormick& Schmidt, CAlifornia Pizza Kitchen..
But the "regular" side has a food court on the 3rd floor.

Many upscale stores have failed here: Henri Bendel, FAO Schwartz, etc. So it just goes to show you the state of the economy in Michigan, even in Oakalnd County!

It's an Upper Class Mall, so the Mid-to-Upper Class usually shops there. However, you must dress fancy in order to blend in.

The wealthy from Troy, Bloomfield, Bloomfield Hills, etc. Its definitely a high end mall with high end stores. We live 40 minutes away and go there a couple of times a year and enjoy wandering around, but really can't afford to purchase anything there.

LC
An upper class crowd.

Hmmm... all the people that when you went to high school, they had the nice cars, nice clothes, nice jewelry, nice house, and they were stuck up as could be. They think they are so much better than you, spending there mommy and daddy's money on some fancy new shoes or handbags. They cannot be caught in last year's Mercedes, it's too outdated!

All kinds of people hang around Somerset mall. The stores are really expensive, but that doesn't stop people who can't really afford it from charging pricey things on their credit cards.

Anyone can go there and walk around and shop, and lots of people do without buying anything, just to enjoy the mall and see what it is about. There are all income levels at that mall at any given time, just like anywhere. Just because a person goes to that mall and even buys things there doesn't mean they are affluent, even though the mall tries to cater to that group.

The upper-middle calss. ITs a very expensive mall. Make sure you have at least 200 dollars with you so you can enjoy your time there. I had a 20 dollar gift card there once and the cheapest clearance item was $22.
Hope this helps!
VERY VERY beautiful mall tho!

Upper class people shop there and if you dress different people will look at you like you're weird lol.
You're better off going to Lakeside mall or great lakes crossing.

kg22
typical Mall rats. who the hell wants to hang out at a mall all day? I avoid any mall if possibel-even for Christmas shopping.

Peanuthead
Somerset is my favorite mall ever in Michigan. Either that or Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights. If u like really really really upscale Somerset is for u. If u want a nice mall that isnt upscale that u could have fun in and good shops I would say Lakeside Mall off of Hall Rd or M59 which ever u want to call in Sterling Heights. Its not to upscale but its not poor. If u like the Downriver area better Southland Mall isnt bad or Oakland Mall.

romancexxmy2
I shop there sometimes and my brother works there. It's not my favorite mall and they keep getting rid of my favorite stores. You should go to Oakland Mall or Lakeside Mall or Great Lakes Mall.

People with money.

redwingstigerspistonsnotlions
The people that shop there are normal people, they may make more or less money in relativity to you, they may believe in things you do not, they may look different than you, talk different than you, act different than you, but i can assure you we are normal everyday people.

now people that "hang out" around the mall, i dont know, i dont pay attention to security guards and pedestrians all that often.

North of Big Beaver Road is more of the typical mall, more non-rich people are there. South, it's upscale (Louis Vuitton, Burberry). Both are nice and safe, and there's a skyway connecting them. Enjoy!
