I recommend early spring (May-June) or early fall (September-beginning of October). Otherwise it's normally too hot/humid or too cold/icy. Though, the heat and humidity are great for being in the water, and the cold is great if you're into snow sports.... which I'm not. |

Well, there are a few seasons to avoid.
Winter (Nov- April)
It is cold. Especially near the river. I mean very cold. This is a good time to go to Florida.
Construction (April-October)
It is really a pain in the backside to navigate when there is construction going on.
All humor aside, I would recommend late spring (May or June) or early fall (September or October).
Of course it depends on what you are here for. |

I would say the best months to visit Detroit is during June and July because there are many activities and special events that go on during this time. January is also a good time to visit for the North American International Auto Show.
The worst month to visit is between February and March because there is not a lot of activity that goes on in the city. |

May-July are the best. Jan-March are the worst. |

June and July are the best months to travel to Detroit. There are so many events and outdoor activities going on that you won't know which to choose. January and February are the worst. If there was anything fun happening during those months you wouldn't want to go because it is just too darn cold. |

I tend to visit in May time and its not too hot and not too cold. September is also quite nice. From what my friends tell me winter seems to be harsh so avoid November through to April... although like everywhere it can vary. April this year was cold, 2 years ago it was quite nice. |

The best time to visit Detroit would be mid-June to mid-July. Beautiful summer weather for walking, biking, hiking or going for a sail. The Pistons, Red Wings and Tigers will all be playing. Outdoor concerts and festivals all over the place.
Worst time would have to be Mid-Jan to March 1. Winter is in full gear. Never know how could it might get. Stay home. |

Avoid the winter and go in the summer
However, there isn't anything really that special there so I would avoid travelling there entirely |
