Yes, go to Gino's Pizza and The John Hancock observatory- at night.
And check out the Navy Pier. I've never been though.

Must see, huh? Well, I guess the Signature Room at the top of the Hancock building - go to the south side of the building and take the elevator to the restaurant at the top. They have a bar up there too. Greatest view of the city around. And you don't have to pay for the elevator ride like the schmucks who go to the boring observation deck.

The Sears Tower... it WAS the tallest building in the world for a time, which I guess makes it a must see.

If it were warmer, I'd say Wrigley Field. You can always find a scalper in the summer time, but in wintertime it's kinda... eh... I mean you can look at the outside, and there's a delivery door on the outside in right field that lets you look into the ballpark from ground level.

Second City... it's where most of the comedy greats in the U.S. have come from. And they have free improv after the main show is over on every night but Friday. So you can hang out and wait until the main show is over and get in for free.

The Art Institute... I guess there is something cool about seeing a Picasso up close or looking at a painting and knowing that it was done more than 500 years ago

Wicker park and Belmont areas. Sort of yuppie/alternative areaswith some decent shops, bars, clubs, etc.

Greektown is a pretty cool place to eat. The waiters are a riot sometimes, the food is great and you get to shout "Opaaaa!!!" everytime someone orders the flaming cheese. Try Greek islands or Roditys.
People are going to say Millenium Park, but it's kind of a dud since it's wintertime and there's nothing really going on but ice skating. And Navy Pier has shops, but unless you can walk around outside and hear the music, see the sights, drink a beer (like you can do in the summertime) it's not that thrilling.

OK sublimesc,

I am going to give you a tip that few people talk about. Well, the response from manonthestreets is good:
"the Signature Room at the top of the Hancock building - go to the south side of the building and take the elevator to the restaurant at the top. They have a bar up there too. Greatest view of the city around. And you don't have to pay for the elevator ride like the schmucks who go to the boring observation deck"
BUT what he doesn´t tell you is that the best view is in the lounge-but the even better view is in the women´s restroom in the lounge. You can get so close to the glass, and view so many more places from this angle. Trust me, I have been in there, and even have dragged (or is it drugged) my Dad and fiance in there. The other women did not mind-they were doing the same thing. Go to Chicago and then pick your favorite-I bet you will not be disappointed.

Chicago is a great city to visit. LOTS to see and do. Head on over to Navy Pier and wander around all of the neat shops that are there. Chicago is famous for the Sears Tower so make sure you venture over there and go to the observation deck at the top and get a wonderful view of the city. Don't forget to take a gander at Soldier Field, Wrigley Field and US Cellular Field - home to some of the greatest sports teams. There is also the Museum of Science & Industry, the Field Museum, the Art Institute, and the Shedd Aquarium. If you get a chance to see a play while your in town, Chicago has some great Broadway shows in town right now such as Wicked and the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. You can't come to Chicago and NOT try the Wold Famous Pizza. You MUST try Giordano's which has locations all over downtown. Here's the website..http://www.giordanos.com/main.php . There are many great stores to visit on Michigan Avenue and State Street. Have a great time during your visit.

Wrigleyville is my favorite area in Chicago. The Metro has amazing shows, and in my opinion is the best venue in the city. It has really good sound, and it's a beautiful building. It also has an awesome bar scene. If you go there, go to Cubby Bear and Sluggers. And there's an awesome coffee shop there too, though I can't remember it's name to save my life. The stores around there are cool too. The Magnificent Mile is also pretty amazing. I've been to the Hancock Observatory and the Sears Tower. I reccommend the Hancock, you get a better view of the skyline. Navy Pier really isn't that great, so I'd avoid it. It's normally a bunch of screaming kids running around. If you're into art, the Art Institute is definitely worth going to see. It's great. Shedd Aquarium is amazing too, and a lot of fun. House of Blues is okay, not the best place in the world. As far as restaurants go, Portillos is really good, though it's kinda fast food. I'd also reccommend Giordannos if you want some good pizza. Hope that helped some. The city is amazing, and lots of fun.
