Do whatever you want. I've heard that everything over there is VERY expensive except pinapples, cause they grow their own pinapples |

First off, stay away from Waikiki Beach where the chemical composition is 40% cigarette ash. Second, avoid Oahu (too crowded) except for the Arizona memorial, the Graveyard of the Pacific and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Try the other islands like Maui or the Big Island where you can see volcanoes and much more scenery. |

You can surf or take lessons. We have some really nice beaches. You can get a tan and people watch. We also have some great hiking trails. Just stay on the trail because many tourists stray and end up being rescued by the fire department.
If you don't have transportation it's going to be a little harder to some cool things. |

See a volcano! When i go, i want to see the red beaches and black beaches too - I think that sounds great. If it's too hot, go tour the Dole plant to cool down.
Peace and Bon Voyage! |

Haunamma Bay on Ohau... great snorkeling with tons of real live tropical fish.... the Polenysian Cultural Center.... great show especially the fire dancers.... and make sure your parents take you to a luai... you will have some really great local food.... hit the beaches, but be careful to check the current shark reports if you are going to the Wiannee side and the rip tides for the rest of the beach.... In Wiakeke.... see the Dole Exhibition and Hilo Hatties Factory Outlet.... and on Dukes Lane near the Alowae Cannal... you have to eat at Ferdinan's... jsut ask about the resturant with the big tree in the middle. At the Outrigger West check out the 3 story aquarium... it is too kewl. But most of all.... meet the local people and teens.... they are great people. |

I say do what the locals do. We hang at the beach 24/7. Usually boogie boarding, surfing, or just hanging. I say check the beaches out, depending what island your on and where your staying. So yeah just relax and go with the flow.

Having gone to Hawaii several times I would say Waikiki is best for a family with young children. How young? There is a big Water park that has rides fo the older kids, nice pools with slides for the younger kids. The zoo is quaint and younger children will love it. If you go on Saturday you will see local artists displaying their work outside the zoo. There is the Marine museum there that young and old alike enjoy. There are shows, hikes and walks. My kids loved the Dole Pineapple Maze and orchard. We enjoyed renting a jeep for the day and just driving out to the North Shore and stopping at various beaches to watch the HUGE surf. The Barfoot Fun cruise is nice. You go out on a boat with a floating trampolene for about 4 hours. There is plenty of good snorkeling and lunch. Dont let the crowds scare you.. Waikiki is plenty big for everyone. |
