What should my 3 & 4 year old sons do their 1st time @ Disneyland? |
We have One-Day Park Hopper tickets and aren't sure what to do for their first time with only one day to do it! I've been to Disneyland many times and want them to remember that first walk down Main Street to the Castle, but what next? |

Take a bunch of photos- especially with them and the characters. Make an album of these pictures and they can look back at the photos and remember their time at Disneyland! |

Go early in the morning before the heat of the day, plan on renting a stroller because your little ones will get very tired legs, and then they will be cranky and not enjoy anything. take them right to TOON TOWN. they will identify with the disney characters then by the time you have had them on the rides and looked at everything there it will be close to lunch time. you can either feed them the junk at a burger place or take their favorite food with you in throw away containers. After lunch and a run around the Tom sawyer Island OR adventure land and the Bears singing show ( I can't remember the name of that show), After that is when the stroller will come in really handy for that after noon nap while Mom and Dad look at the stuff they want to see. when the kids wake up from their nap, it could be time for The Jungle cruise and the other rides . As long as you remember they are children and will get tired if they walk all day you'll have fun. ( and don't forget hat's or some sort of shade for the kids, there's nothing worse than seeing a small child screaming in the hot sun while the parents stroll around as if they were deaf |

I take it if you have a park hopper you mean DisneyWORLD, Land is in California and is only 1 park..
However for their age the best place to take them is Magic Kingdom because you have Fantasy Land and Tomorrow Land which has many rides great for their age bracket.. Also Animal Kingdom is great if you dont mind walking a lot to see the different exhibits and such.
Epcot & MGM studios are more for the older age brackets and I believe they would get the most enjoyment out of the ones I stated above.. If you have any more questions feel free to email me. |

At 3 and 4 years of age, I don't think they will remember much about this trip. Be sure to get lots of pictures of them with the characters (Minnie, Mickey, etc.).
Have fun! |

I hate to say this but they are a little young to appreciate that huge place. Kids get whiney as hell when they`re overwhelmed.
Get a sitter and have fun with your spouse, like when you were dating! |

My first and most important suggestion is take it easy on them! Don't set high goals of getting a lot into a day. Go for quality. Their quality.
If they want to ride the train around 3 times, let them relax and do that. If they want to go through Its a small world a dozen times let them (Is there still a small world?) If they want to stand still and look at goofy for 15 minutes, let them. Don't rush the little ones. Let them set the pace. It will take a ton of your patience!
Keep water and healthy snacks handy. Too much sugar and salt can get them keyed up and quarrelsome. I don't mean deny them all treats, but be sure to have protein snacks and fruit with you so when they start to get hungry you have a healthy treat handy right away!
Keep them hydrated. Even in wither the climate can be dry in So Cal.
If they are dare devils at the local parks. If they climb way up in the trees. If they climb up on rocks and jump off. If they are wild little daredevils and you are too, go ahead and take them on a ride they ask to go on if the staff allows it. But hold the tight and make sure they feel as safe as they feel dare devilish!
And taking them away for a quiet lunch and rest can make the rest of the day 1000 times better than if you push them to have fun for 16 straight hours!
And everyone who said take pictures is right! Take a million pictures! If you have a video camera that has good sound when they watch themselves later the sound can help transport them back to the day so they can enjoy it to some degree all over again!
Try to keep yourselves happy! Nothing can burst the baloon of joy for a child quicker than an argument between parents. Or grumpiness of parents. So take care of your own pleasure to guarantee theirs! |

Well what can they do? - Have fun I guess. Make the most of their one day there. Dont be strict on them , let them decide for themselves what they want to do. x Good Luck |

take pictures with all the characters and go on the rides for younger kids (like the teacups) and they have these little shows for younger kids that should be fun for them |

Make sure to dress then in bright colors and get them a balloon to avoid getting trampled.Once I nearly tripped on someones kid that I couldn't see.The Anaheim Disney? Go on the easy stuff. Don't scare them. Some of the newer stuff is over the top for the little ones. |

I am a teenager and still remember Disneyland from when I was a kid. Every timee I go,as I pass rides,scenery.....I remember what I did when I was little and every kid should be able to remember it also!!
My favorite is toon town!I loved toontown!Especially gadgets go-coaster and Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin! If tall enough, the Matterhorn is amazing if everyone is into that kid of stuff!Nemo and Buzz are also cool!Nemo is a long wait but is worth it! I also love the memories of me going on all of the Fantasyland rides.Yes,they scared me but it is fun to go back and remember that I was scared of the smoke of Mr.Toads wild ride.
Another great thing is photos!!Make sure you see characters!!My favorite was Goofy's Kitchen! You need to make reservations but can take the monorail from DisneyLand to Downtown Disney and then walk to the hotel to the restraunt.IT IS NOT CHEAP,but then again, what is at Disney??There, you can see all of the characters. And make sure you do the parades!!
I was older when CA Adventures opened, but I loved the Muppets 3-D! I also remember not wanting to stay there for very long as a kid because it was geared toward older kids but they do have bugs land. I loved the flying zepher when I was younger! They also have tons of characters!
And one last thing! If the Holiday parade,is going, make sure you see the parade at night!I loved that and I still do!I would get there early to get close but it is worth the wait!!The holiday fireworks are also good! After, don't leave!Make sure you stay for the snowfall(bubbles)!!
When I took a 2 year old boy,my mom gave him a map and let him choose! He pointed to the things that looked cool to him!I also took my cousin and he really enjoyed the Jungle Crusie and Tarzans Tree House!!He did not want to leave the Jungle Cruise because he wanted to see the animals! And they Both Loved Small World and Dumbo!!
Althought there is a lot to do and you may want to get your moneys worth, relax and enjoy the parks!Yes,you may want to get every ride in but also let them observe. That is what makes the memories! They will really remember eating ice cream while watching Pluto meet other kids or loking at the Matterhorn or castle for 20 mins. They will remember those things as well.
Make sure you take lots of pics and video if you can because it will help make the memories last FOREVER!!
Have fun!!!!!!!!!Just make the best of the day! |

i think they should go swimming,go on go cars and when they get hungry go get something to eat and work your way up. That's what i did for the first time when i broght my child |

i would take them to the magic kingdom like you said, and then to animal kingdom.
the other two parks are geared toward a little bit older age group imo. |

Hey!
Haha, I remember my first disney land adventure!
To tell you the truth, there's nothing much you can plan when you go there, the castle is always a must though. The rides and scenery are constantly changing its hard to keep up. Try to find some activities while your there that you think are suitable for your kids, this is what I would do!
