What state do you think has the friendliest people?

I know which one doesn't: California

New york state (NOT NYC) I live here traveled a lot no one has friendlier people!

TRUE southern hospitality is found in Alabama, NOT Georgia. I have lived in both places and was treated like family in Alabama but treated like a damn yankee in Georgia. They need to put billboards at five-mile intervals on all Georgia freeways displaying the Union Jack with the big red circle around it and line through it with the legend "You lost -- GET OVER IT!!!" Only place I have found people friendlier than Sweet Home Alabama is on the island of Kauai in Hawaii...

I think it depends on how friendly YOU are to people. If you are rude and demanding and unfriendly, you should expect to be treated in a way that is not friendly. There are definitely lots of different areas of California where the average people are unkind...Like Orange County and the entire Hollywood ara. But, really, California is a lot bigger than most states and has lots of different areas with super friendly people. Most people that live right on the water have pretty laid back attitudes and are friendly...EXCEPT in the OC...and people that live in the Sierras or in the desert are really nice. Also, people in the Napa Valley are super friendly...hoity-toity, but friendly. Some people in San Francisco are rude, but there are still really friendly people. Have you ever been to California? A lot of touristy places, like Disneyland, have rude people, but they are usually visiting from somewhere else. If you run into mean people at the beach in CA, chances are...they are tourists!

Georgia of course. Its all about that southern hospitality.

Justme
In my mind, I think probably Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Missouri, you have to show them everything.

I'd say the midwest. I know midwesterners who moved to Florida, and are all shocked at how unfriendly Floridians are. Nobody says "hi" to you on the street. As a Floridian, I'm used to it.

Out in California, people in OC are pretty friendly as long as you're more than 3-4 miles inland. People in LA and San Diego aren't friendly at all (IOW, just like FLA). *Nobody* is friendly on the freeway.

The one with the least population. People aren't generally "friendly" people, so the less people the friendlier. Plus people in small towns get bored alot, so any new face is a welcome face. Hey! Whats with the California comment, I'm from there, and your probably right people are not just un-friendly, their, down right rude!

I am from Nebraska. I live in a rural area but go to Lincoln and Omaha often. When you are driving down the hiway people are courteus most of the time. You can start a conversation with a stranger. I have been to most other states and always glad to get home.

I've had the pleasure of visiting most of the lower 48 states. In my humble opinion, the friendliest people live in America's heartland, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska. They are just hard working, salt of the earth Christian kind of people. You can't ask for a better lot.

I've only been to Montana, New York, and Florida. All of which were during vacations. We encountered nothing but nice people in all three places so it's hard to say.

I've traveled a lot. But I would say Alabama. In fact, we moved here from Chicago, and have been absolutely blown away by the hospitality.

so far, SOuth Carolina

I think there are friendly people everywhere. I have traveled all over, and folks, if you give them half a chance, are generally pretty pleasant. Of course, a lot of it is how you present yourself. As the old saying goes; "You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar."

If I was forced to pick one state, I'd have to say my home state of Mississippi, but I'm biased.
