They have nice new Wallgreens in Pocatello and Idaho Falls Idaho. The winters are snowy but not bad, no humidity at all, great quality of life. Your kids can walk to school, play on little league/soccer teams, sunny and warm in the summer. |

I don't know if this will help you, hope so. Don't go to the five states which depend on the Colorado River for water. California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. They are in a 500 year drought and with global warming they will be in trouble very soon. I live in Idaho, the southern part. It is on the same latitude as Chicago so the weather is similar but not as severe. People are family and religious oriented here and there are lots of small to medium sized towns which have homes that are not very expensive to buy. Best of luck to you. |

Sioux Falls South Dakota-There are 4 or 5 Walgreens here and I think they are building another one on the North end of town. I have lived here for about 4 years now and I absolutely love it. The schools are great, there are also tons of small communities around Sioux Falls that a lot of Families live in that work in Sioux Falls. I think you should really move here. The population in the city is around 130,000 and in what is considered the "metro" area there are a little over 200,000.
www.siouxfalls.org is the city's website. There is a lot to do here and there are tons of restaraunts that you could work at.
Wherever you go, I wish you and your family the best of luck. |

You'll probably get 50 different answers for this question but here are a few thoughts.
If nice weather is a priority, live in Hawaii.
If low taxes are important, live in Delaware, Texas, Florida or South Carolina.
If beautiful scenery is a benefit, live in Colorado, Oregon, California, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah or Montana.
If friendly neighbors mean a lot to you, live in North Dakota.
If you enjoy history, culture, fashion and politics, live in New York, Virginia, Maryland, Illinois or New Jersey.
If you want the government to pay you for living there, live in Alaska. (Yes, residents of Alaska get an annual payment of around $1,000 just for living there.)
Me, I prefer North Carolina |

Indiana is great! They've a wonderful childrens museum there. It's a great place to live, safe, friendly. The weather is better than the North and not as hot as the south. Tons of things to do there. |

Try mississippi the people are wonderful and it's not to humid in the uplands! The cost of living is very good and I think your kids would love it. I would recommend along the river but it may be too humid for you, but it's only humid for about 4 1/2 months and is therefore tolerable. The could have fun like Huck Finn !
From a granny who knows -- if I'd been smart like you I'd've gotten away from my horrid in-laws 35yrs ago! They turned my only son against me and my husband and now we are thrown away like garbage and cant even see our grandkids. We have suffered unbearably -- SO GO!!! GO NOW!!!!! EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO GO W/O HIM --- GO!!!! HE WILL FOLLOW YOU AND YOU'LL BE RID OF THEM!!! Do not tell your kids about their fathers family or where they are! Do not give them your address or phone number. Cut them off now and forevr b4 they ruin your life!!! |

The Midwest is still about what old America was about, working hard, paying taxes etc. and you can own your own home so I say take a drive and look around. |

my state, california. if you do decide california, try living in southern california its the best. beaches are like 30 mins depending where you live and snowy mountains you can visit with your family are like 3 hours away. mediterranean weather is also very nice to have here in southern california. although its a bit expensive(most houses are like 700k and only 1500 sq feet, depending on what part you live) its definetely worth it. school systems here in southern california are exceptonal, especially here in orange county. |

california is great, arizona is a great choice. but really hot will you be able to adjust to the sun hitting the back of your neck at like 2 inches apart 104* weather. i myself am planning to get a 2nd home in Arizona. if you are in a big town right now in illionois you should strongly consider phoenix. im in california i also think you should try denver. i had a great time there. very scenic. oh and whatever you pick NO UTAHHH!!! you will thank me later lolz. now choose between 48 of the states. |
