We've already changed clocks.

New York is on East Coast time.

Figure out which time zone you're in and do the math.

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, so California will always be earlier, Europe will be later.

If you are in Chicago, for example, you are in on Central time (one hour earlier)

If you are in Denver, you are on Mountain time (two hours earlier than NY)

If you are in LA, you are on Pacific Time (three hours earlier)

If you look at a pap of time zones, you will notice that London is (0) That is the Time Meridian (the point in which times are measure from, the starting point)

Just remember that Europe is farther north, so it gets darker there in the winter sooner than here, and lighter in the spring. So they go on Daylight savings time about a week or so before the US. Other places do not even observe daylight savings. But go to the first website so that you can get accurate info.

2:26 pm. Looks like your computer didn't automatically update for daylight saving times. It took place on Nov. 4th.

I'll answer differently....GMT -5. GMT is Greenwich Meridian Time and is what the world bases their clocks on.

The "0" longitude on Earth runs through Greenwich, England...thus the Greenwich name. We are 5 hours subtracted from that time. Whereas when it is 2000 hours (8PM) GMT, it is 1500 (3PM) Eastern Standard Time.

The GMT is -4 when Daylight Savings time takes place.
