I agree that the variety of restaurants is a huge plus. There are some other things the other responders overlooked:

1. cheap cost-of-living
2. first-class hospitals and medical facilities
3. robust economy; lots of jobs and career opportunities
4. plenty of open space, parks and greenery
5. centrally located; 3 hours to either coast, and so many non-stop direct flights to Mexico and Latin America
6. multicultural city with lots of ethnic festivals (great for people-watching)
7. world-class city
8. beautiful skyline (like the previous responder said)
9. nice landscape
10. friendly people
11. abundant natural resources (oil, water, land)
12. no snow
13. no earthquakes
14. visiting NASA
15. only a 5-hour drive from Mardi Gras (woo-hoo!)

Just one thing... hmmm, so many... I'll name something that most people won't think of:

The variety of restaurants.

The PEOPLE!

I have traveled everywhere, and there is something very GENUINE, real and honest about the people in houston. We have a variety of cultures, races, and personalities---

Love it!

Beautiful city skyline. I remember driving through Houston on New Year's Eve, and I will never forget how beautiful the downtown buildings looked. I'm also a big fan of the Houston Texans. Try not to laugh, but next year will be their year!
