Depending how much you weigh....prices will change. Have someone ship you UPS w/no insurance to your destination. It's defintely the best way to go and a positive adventure.

Try the train. If you schedule ahead of time you can get some really good deals. I went from Wash., state to Calif., for under $90.00. Look up Amtrak.com.

Take the train (Amtrack) is the cheapest besides walking. Pretty fun experience too.

Try searching ride share communities online. You can try to hook up with someone in your area that is travelling the same route. This is a bit safer than hitching since you can meet with the person(s) ahead of time and the actual trip might not take as long as the bus. Not sure which cities you are travelling from/to but from Albuquerque, NM to San Jose, CA on Greyhound you can get a 7-day advance ticket (one-way) for $84. Any sooner to your departure date and it goes up to $143.50. Hope that helps!

Hitchiking would be the very cheapest. The bus is next. After that, there are no options. Southwest Airlines can be almost as cheap as a bus ticket, if not cheaper sometimes.
