17 hrs from denver to calgary. Although the way home seemed much longer...

I was with my 2 cousins and we have way too much fun doing anything, so we entertained each other. Sang some dumb songs, harassed people at drive-thru windows, played with the camcorder, etc. Its all about the people you're with.

From Miami, Florida to Kenai, Alaska. It is a little over 5000 miles. It took us 10 days and that was driving about 8 hours per day! We kept a journal, took a bunch of pictures, played with the computer/GPS, and listened to 14 of those audio books. We also had some really good meditation tapes that we listened to. The person that wasn't driving could also watch TV or a movie on the portable TV/video set. My wife even mooned a couple of truckers - which was hilarious! It was really a pretty fun trip although I wouldn't want to do it again! My butt was sore for 2 months.

I moved from Knoxville, TN to Los Angeles, and drove the entire way.

I didn't do much to keep myself busy other than listen to the radio, talk on a cell phone, and try to keep my cat quiet.

Non-stop about 17 or 18 hours. We've also driven from Louisiana to Upstate NY and that was about 24 hours but we broke it into two days.

I went to the library and got an audio book. It kills a lot of time on car trips. I also make sure I have plenty of music in the car.

Washington DC to San Francisco. Music, chatting, sleeping, playing cards, eating...we were in a Winnebago, so it was pretty comfy.

The longest passenger car drive was LA to Vancouver. However, we passed the time the same way.

I drove to Ontario from Alberta when I was like 12 or 13, with my Moom , Grandma, and two other sisters...it took 4 1/2 days, because we stopped and did stuff, but that was the longest car ride ever!!! we played a lot of silly games like I Spy, and we had cards i think.

I think 6 hours was the longest...I listened to music and basically talked to my friend the whole time.

drove arizona to anchorage alaska. took about 7 days and 4 hours. i drove a f- 350 and almost ran over a elk

Boston,Mass to Salt Lake City,Utah, via Cincy,Chatanooga,Tn and Omaha,Ne...about 3000 miles with the "detours'....left on a Tuesday, got in the following Monday..would have been 1 less day but I-80 was CLOSED west of Laramie,Wy due to high winds and rolled-over 18-wheelers
held the steering wheel...talked on cell phone...hooked up with ex-g/f ;)

New York City to Alaska and back. 29 days, just over 10,000 miles.

Kept ourselves busy by looking out the window, blogging, taking photo and video.

Longest single-day drive that I remember was from Deming, N.M. to Texarkana, Ark.; 799 miles.

EDIT: jhsvolvo: What time of year did you hit that stretch of I-80 out of Laramie? That stretch is legendary for horrendous weather conditions, they call it the Ho Chi Minh Trail up there. I remember seeing a Charles Kuralt feature about it.
