When flying to a diff time zone whose time do you use?

If I'm flying to a different time zone and my ticket says I will depart at 6 and arrive at 11 should I make my pick up time for 12 nstead of 11? And if my departure time is 6 with arrival time at 8, whose time is that and what time should I arrange for my ride to pick me up?

During the duration of the flight, use the time zone and difference from the originating point. Only when you land can you use the destination point. However have your ride arrangement be made for the landing time - plus give some minutes for you to clear customs and immigration, or at least baggage claim.

Whichever you like,

although telling a guy in the UK that your arriving 10am your time might be confusing if that is 12am his time

Faysal
Depending where you are,a electronic device of yours may detect that you are in another time zone & change its time to the present time in that zone.Examples are
Eastern-Washington,New York,Miami
Central-Chicago,Indianapolis,New Orleans
Mountain-Alberqerque,El Paso,Las Vegas
Pacific-Los Angeles,Portland,Seattle

airlines should automatically change times, all times will be local times for where you are at that moment

Call the airline to double check but usually the time listed is the time (their time zone) that you will arrive.

you depart at 6 your time and land at 11 their time.

The arrival time is in the time zone of your destination, whether you are going or coming. Have fun!

tell them to pick u up at the same time of your destination place, it is automatically setup in your ticket to the local time of your final destination

Gwenhwyvar
The departure time is the time zone you are in. The landing time or pick up time is the time zone you WILL BE IN.

Have fun on your vacation!

that hurts my head, well, thy use the departing time for the time zone your in. and your arrival time is in the time zone you arrive in

Ticket shows you the local time at the destination. So arrival time of 11 or 8, you can arrange for pickup at that stipulated time.

If they is a tv on the chair infrfont of you there is always a channel which shows you the time in the location you left and the destination time.

VDubJason
Whenever I travel the times are always stated in the time zone you will be arriving in

Frank R
When you land use that time zone.

Use the time at your destination point.

When you fly your departure time is in your own time zone; your arrival time is in the time zone of the place you're flying to. So if you are arriving somewhere at 11, it means 11 in that time zone.

southrntrnzplnt
All times listed are the local time of the airport you are travelling to and from. So you leave at 6am/pm your time and arrive at 8am/pm their time.

noshyuz
the times on the ticket are in the time zone of the departure/arrival - that is, the departure time is in the timezone of wherever you depart from, the arrival time is in the timezone of the arrival city.

GMT.

Normally is local time.

cynicusprime
Whatever time it says on your ticket is the time in the place where you will be at that time. If you arrive somewhere at 11 according to the ticket, it will be 11 in that location, not from where you departed. All air travel (and presumably train and bus) times are adjusted to the local time wherever you will be.

in air travel, all times are local. In other words, if your ticket says depart at 6, your flight will depart at 6:00 at the airport you are departing from. When you land, it will be 11:00 at the airport you are arriving to. The airlines already factor time changes into arrival and departure times so you don't need to worry about it.

the time at the air port

both times are local...the departure time is local for the city from where you're flying and arrival is local for the city to which you're flying.

an example: a flight ticket says it leaves Dallas/Fort Worth at 9:00am and arrives in Los Angeles at 9:50am. 9:00am is Dallas (central) time and 9:50am is LA (Pacific) time.

if someone is meeting you, you tell them 9:50 am, their time!!
