Nope. No luck. Rain is forcasted through the week and until the weekend. Sucks for me cause I've got July 4th tickets for the Rangers game.

I just saw this today and it was great!! I hate it too..... but if it was hot and sunny, id complain about that too!!
_____ see link below for figures etc form article below.___

What caused such terrible rains? The main culprit was a nearly stationary upper-air trough of low pressure. The southerly winds to the east of its axis brought northward a deep layer of moisture, rich with fuel for the heavy rains. The winds, however, were weak. Such weak winds steered the thunderstorms slowly, allowing them to stall or slowly "train" one after another along the same track (like railroad cars, each bearing a load of rain).

When thunderstorms cluster, their heat release and related processes can create mid-level areas of concentrated low pressure, as shown in the next figure. This is in some ways similar to how tropical storms are generated over oceans. These intermediate-sized lows or "mesolows" can drift around, in this case from Texas to northern Oklahoma. Because air tends to converge into and rise within low pressure areas, the formation of this type of upper low can lead to enhanced rainfall over a many-county region. That's what happened on Friday and Saturday in southeast and east-central Kansas, southwest and west-central Missouri.

How did this upper trough come into existence? It formed initially from a pocket of cold air at about 20,000 feet that became detached southward from the jet stream on June 20, then was reinforced by another disturbance within the jet stream on the June 22. Since then, the jet stream has locked into the stationary pattern shown in the figure below. Being so detached from the jet stream located over the Northwest, Northern Plains, and Northeast, there has been little to push the upper low away from its position over Oklahoma.

Numerical model guidance suggests that from Monday to Wednesday a ridge of upper-level high pressure will intensify over the Southwest. That will increase the north winds on its east side (as winds rotate clockwise about high pressure in the Northern Hemisphere) and push the upper low southward into Texas and possibly into Mexico. Heavy rains may return to Oklahoma and Texas in the process.

What then? The current upper low may weaken. But another one may detach from the jet stream and start the pattern all over again. It's a little early to be sure. Stay tuned!

Last night on the news they predicted that it will rain for another 14 days. The 7 day forecast says that it will rain ALL week. I wish that it would stop raining too. Enough is enough already.

Do you remember last year??? We weren't allowed to wash our cars, water the lawn, fill up pools etc. Parks and ballfields were closed because of the drought.
Wasn't this what everyone was praying for??
I guess our cries were finally heard!!!
Lake Lavon was nothing but dirt last year! There was NOTHING in it! Now it's full again!
I hope people aren't praying that it stops........ I don't want another drought!
