Hot air balloons? I have lived here all my life and don'tt see that many hot air balloons at all. That is New Mexico that is big on them.

I would say the mountains, The Capital building or the court house, all of them in Colorado are unique

I guess if I had to choose just one, I would say the Denver court house especially when it is all light up for the holiday season. But then again our capital building's roof is gold. Oh and that weird shaped building that is half circle in downtown, you cant miss that building in our skyline, I cant remember the name of it but I choose that one, no other state or country has a building like that.

Oh and this message is to Don, that demon horse at the airport is to scare off Californians and Texans lol

mountains, skiing.....

Most of the time, I would think of the spectacular views of the Front Range and the Rockies from the city. When I think of the city itself, I more often think of the state capitol building with it's golden dome.

Sexy Noah
When I think of Denver I think of the Denver Broncos. Not really sure what your talking about with the skinning and hot air balloons!

When I think of the skyline, I think of the Qwest Building b/c it's the tallest and defines the horizon. When I think on Denver and icon I think of the mountains along the front range. You can see the Continental Divide from the city, and the mountains are definitely the one defining characteristic that makes Denver the Mile High City. Having lived there, the outdoors are at the forefront of the psyche of most Denverites. Although, it has a pretty good urban scene too.

skiing!

huh???

Neither....

Assuming you mean skiing, I live in Ski country, and I have to drive an hour to get to Denver...people from Denver spend two to three many times, to get HERE, to ski, so...no one skis IN Denver. And hot air balloons???? That's Albuquerque!

Oh, yeah, I guess there is a Hot Air balloon festival in Steamboat, too, but that is hardly iconic!

If anything is an "icon" of Denver, it's the Horse at Mile High stadium, the horizon to the West (the mountain skyline), the Bank One building in the middle of the city, or the State Capitol building.

Mr. J. Gatsby
The sixteenth street mall Republic Plaza and Bank One buildings are icons of Denver !

Miotch
I assume you mean Skiing? You're thinking of Steamboat. Denver is just another City. I've never seen a hot air balloon here.

-The skyline looking North with the convention center.
-The all so ugly cash register building
-Trains would be a good one.
-There are sure a lot of places to eat and drink.

Mike R
I have met so many, trashy, horrible, people that come from Denver. What is up with that? I mean not just one, or two....but 15 or 20 of the most foul human beings. I can't think of a single positive thing to say about Denver. Sorry.
