Where and when is the best to go in the world to witness a thunder storm or a hurricane?

Thunder Storm: Orlando FL - it's the lightening capital of the world.

Hurricane: Perhaps somewhere that is close to a large body of water like Key West.

Lightning Alley extends from Tampa to Orlando to Daytona in Florida. There are more lightning strikes in this area than any other place on the planet. The best time to see a REAL thunderstorm is during the summer months where every afternoon ends with a lightning storm.

Hurricanes hit the southeastern US all the time, but the best place is probably the Caribbean from June to November. Global warming is rumored to make the hurricanes more powerful so you have that going for you if you want to feel the devastation a hurricane unleashes.

I like Western Broward County or Eastern Collier County in Florida. You want to see a thunderstorm, you want to watch one over the Everglades.

As far as hurricanes, I've seen everything that hit South Florida since 1990 including Andrew in 1992 through Wilma in 2007.

Well... for thunderstorms, I would go to the central United States in Tornado alley... from Nebraska down on into Texas during the early summer...

For hurricanes, go to the southern East coast, from say, the Carolinas down to Florida...

If you can afford, pacific typhoons are so much more powerful... go to say like Hong Kong or the Philippines or Taiwan...

Anywhere in the Midwest during the summer for thunderstorms.

The mid-west is the best place for a thunderstorm. Not much Hurricanes but the thunderstorms are fierce and with any luck, you might see a tornado.

I live in Southeast Texas and we have thunder storms all the time. I love watching lighting storms they are so beautiful. A hurricane is impossible for the general public to observe they have mandatory evacuations.

I was in Key West one time during a big thunder storm and it was very scary. I would hate to be on that rock during a hurricane.

Orlando florida during summer months for Tstorms for Hurricanes I recommend going to the caribbean islands like puerto rico, dominican republic since hurricanes usually hit them before they sweep up to atlantic, gulf of mexico or central america.

I think that would be Arizona.

arizona deserts during monsoon season. you'll get a show

Trust me on this one... You don't want to "witness" a hurricane.

As far as T-storms go, try Oklahoma in late April early May.
