I agree with "Jacks" answer 100%! As far as the "Terminator" I would like to say you are completely wrong. Las Vegas Blvd starts at stateline, just because it is Las Vegas Blvd does not mean that it is "The Strip". By the way LVB goes from stateline all of the way to Nellis Airforce base!

I guess it all depends on the direction your heading.

If you're coming from the South, Mandalay Bay/Four Seasons Hotel will be the first resort you see.

If you're coming from the North, the Stratosphere Tower will be the first thing you notice.

The "strip" is usually considered to run from the Stratosphere on the North end of LV Blvd S to Mandalay Bay on the South end of LV Blvd S. It's a little over 4 miles from one to the other.

for a map of the strip, with all of the hotels.

Anyone who says from Mandalay Bay to Circus Circus is probably "technically" correct. The Stratosphere(Tower) is about 1/2 mile North of CC on LV Blvd S , but it's also still on LV Blvd S and it is the most prominent feature on the entire strip.

the strip usually starts with music and ends with hot chicks taking their clothes off

I think it might be at New York,New York

Tamart
I had the same problem the last time I visited there. The Strip was constructed in the early stages when the town was small. Now it has disappeared in the new development.

Annelleg
I agree, you will know, it is the main wide street with all the hotels along it.

I say it starts at Mandalay Bay and ends at the Stratosphere.

The Las Vegas Strip (also known as The Strip) is a 4 mi (6.7 km) section of Las Vegas Boulevard South that has been designated an All-American Road. Only part of The Strip is located within the city limits of Las Vegas, Nevada: the section north of Sahara Avenue. The section south of Sahara Avenue is in Clark County's unincorporated Township of Paradise, Nevada.

But Why??
youre all wrong. It starts at about state-line, where you see that big roller coaster just near the Cal border.

Depending on who you ask the answer to this question will be different.

For me the $trip starts at the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign approx half a mile south of Mandalay Bay hotel.

Offically it ends at Sahara Avenue (just after the Sahara hotel) but most people consider the strip to extend as far north as the Stratosphere tower roughly 1/3 of a mile north of Sahara Avenue

izzie just is.
trust me you wil know.
youll just be driving[or flyin] along... and BANG.
..the strip is born.

well yeah. im tired.

I would say it is from Mandalay Bay up to Circus Circus.
None of the major hotels are past Mandalay bay and past Circus Circus you are getting into Downtown.
