I have done two of these sorts of trips: 1) Ojai, CA. Awesome for yoga, hiking, relaxing and tons of spas. Weather is beautiful and there are plenty of spas to relax at. 2) Sedona, AZ - beautiful desert backdrop. Tons of hikes to do and plenty of spas to check out. Both of these cities have great resort hotels perfect for single travelers. Very safe, secluded, but not too sleepy.

From your screen name, I'm assuming you live in California. I live in Arizona, and Sedona, AZ is a beautiful place, especially if you like hiking and the outdoors. Once you get to Phoenix, just take I-17 north, and in about 90 minutes, you'll find yourself in Sedona. The scenery is amazing (more impressive than the Grand Canyon if you ask me). It's a quiet town and there are plenty of nice, inexpensive places to stay. I hope this helps ... have fun!

San Antonio on the Riverwalk in October or November. Nothing more relaxing unless you travel to Lahaina on Maui, Hawaii.

Grand Canyon is a beautiful place and Arizona has a lot to offer. We host a lot of people traveling together. You can learn more at www.grandcanyonlodges.com

Give me a shout if you have any questions.

Acadia national park. maine
lotsa relaxing stuff to do - hiking, sailing, whale watching, etc

best time to go - before july and after august - rates are cheaper and kids in school so less crowded with families. haven't been there in the fall, but looks beautiful when leaves change. its the 2nd most visited park in US, 1st being yellowstone.

The Oregon Coast. I grew up in Minnesota and moved out here to Oregon. I think the Coast is spectacular. The beaches and landscapes are amazing. Being on a oregon beach is awe inspiring. It shows you how small you are in comparison to the world we live. I find much peace and tranqulity looking out into the horizon looking out at the pacific ocean from an oregon beach.
