The captial of Alaska in Juneau. It is a 3 hour flight north from Seattle, WA It is quite an interesting trip. The pilot has to ascend high enough to clear the mountains then, swoop way down to get to the lower Juneau.
Alaska itself borders Canada on its eastern boundary and is about 60 miles from Russia across the Bering Straits on its western side. Alaska is larger than Texas becaue of the Aleutian Islands.
The 49th State of the Union, Alaska is situated near the Arctic Circle. It became a State in 1959. It is our most northwestern State. No part of Alaska actually touches the lower 48 States. |

It's to the north west of canada, and immediately east of Russia,
It is the largest U.S. state by area (by a substantial margin), and one of the wealthiest (per capita) and most racially diverse.
The area that became Alaska was purchased from the Russian Empire on March 30, 1867 for $7.2 million. |

It is the most northern state of America,it is not Canada, even though people think it is. It does border Canada, but it is an American state!!!
