Vegas is definitely one of those places that if you go cheap, you will get cheap. Yes, the rooms are waaaaay overpriced, but those cheaper overpriced rooms are disgusting. You can search for special packages, especially if your travel dates are flexible. I found an awesome deal at the New York New York for a jacuzzi suite for $149 a night, but only available for certain weeks of the year, so I planned to visit that week, and got a great room for much less that usual. For families with children, the Circus Circus and Stratosphere are good options, and they are less expensive than some of the other resorts. Ask them for a newer room. A lot of these big hotels have very old rooms, and then the also have new rooms that were recently added on. Stick to names you know, if you see a lot of hotels that you have never heard of, you should likely stay away, there's a reason no one is talking about those hotels. My favs would be: Bellagio, MGM, Mandalay Bay, Venetian, Treasure Island, New York New York, and the Palms. |

we stayed int he flamingo and in the hilton. pretty cheap. about 80-15 a night depending on the time of week and if there is a holiday. i know the hooters hotle and casino is cheap and it is brand new. I know the rates i looked at were like 250-350 for 3 -4 days. that is really good. i thin next time i go i will stay there. plus i get a discount cause i work at hooters so it will even be cheaper. |

Take a look at the Stratosphere, much nicer than Sahara. Read reviews at cheapovegas.com. Good deals on rooms at tripres.com. |

Every time we go to Vegas, we stay at the Travelodge on the Strip. Way cheaper than any of the Casino Hotels at $49 a night; I think it is one of the very few hotels on the Strip that doesn't have a casino, therefore they have to compete by offering lower prices. Nice big rooms, clean and quiet and you will not spend much time there anyway ! Why insist on staying in a hotel with a Casino when you are surrounded by them ?
This Travelodge is located beside the MGM. |

If you are looking for cheap and on the strip, I'd recommend the Sahara.
It is not a glamerous hotel, but it does have an OK casino in it. It is an older place, so it looks a little dirty. It is a decent hotel all the same.
It is at the north end of the strip (betwee Circus Circus and the Stratosphere) so it really isn't near anything, but the monorail stops right outside the lobby, so you can go anywhere on the strip for a few dollars. |

I suppose Circus Circus would be considered cheap, without being seedy
You can also look into Lady Luck and the Imperial Palace |

If you are looking for a nice place to stay, in the middle of the strip with convenient access to other casinos, and does not cost a fortune, then consider the Monte Carlo. |

I've stay a couple of places my favorite is the golden nugget. you get a really nice room for a good price The last time I went in june I got a king sized bed for 69 a night I think thats a great deal and I prefer to stay in old vegas on freemont st. more to do in a smaller space some times it feels like your walking miles on the strip to go from one casino to another. |

my own experiance tells me to stay on the strip at the Tropicana.
I have stayed at Ballys, Flamingo, Excalibur, Days Inn(was a dive) and Tropicana. I have visited just about all the big name places there as well. I always search the hotel Internet sites to see the rates every time I go. Tropicana was as cheep or cheaper than the rest. Location is great close to center strip. Stratosphere and Circus Circus are cheep but close to nothing. I have been told by local residents not to walk alone up at the north end of the strip at night.
I just booked at the Tropicana last week for sept 30th and will likely stay there from now on.
below is a site you might want to look at for hotel reviews
have fun |

The Imperial Palace is cheap and in a perfect location..Right next to all the expensive casinos |

Took 27 trips to Vegas before moving here in 2005 & never paid more than $80 a night - usually 1/2 that. Sams Town, Downtown, Circus-Circus all fine. No need for any special room in Vegas as not going to be in it much. |

If you can brave a dingy bus ride, a two-hour presentation, and annoying salespeople, then one of those timeshare presentations would work the best. 90% of the time your accommodations end up being free. |

The cheapest place? If you want cheap....you simply must stay
on freemont street, where the lightshow is....they have 24/7 shuttles to the strip, and it's way more fun than people think.
SO much so that many people that discover it prefer to stay
there by default in Vegas, and spend most of their time there as
well. Best things about Freemont Street
....it's got dirt-cheap food specials that you used to see on the
main strip, until Emeril and his kin turned it into Manhattan west.
You can STILL get surf and turf specials for $9.99, a good
steak for $4.99, and a killer buffet for 4-6 bucks.
....it has an awesome lightshow that changes themes every hour, and is always a blast.
.....the freemont strip casinos have to try harder to compete with the strip, so they have awesome dirt-cheap specials on damn
near everything
...the workers are way more down to earth, and the people are
WAY more friendly than the tourists on the strip. The strip tourists
are rude in general....not so on Freemont street(Glitter Gulch).
Everyone is more approachable and friendly on freemont, from
the workers to the tourists.
....the casino slots and the poker machines pay out far more,
again beucase of the strip competition..........
If you want good and cheap and fun, with 24/7 shuttle buses to the strip, Freemont street is the place to be!!!! |

Look on the Aladdin website. They are having some specials right now with free gas money, show tickets, spa specials. Don't stay at the Flamingo (waist of money). Stay off the strip at The Orleans. It's not bad at all, off the strip, but they have a FREE shuttle to their 2 sister locations that are on the strip. Shuttle runs and all times (even the crazy hours of the night). Employees are nice and the rooms are fine. Has the usual, beds, couch, bathroom, dresser, desk, TV, radio, closet. Pool was good too, large! Huge parking lot and plenty of valet men if you don't want to park your own. Good restaurants at the hotel, cute little ice cream shop and coffee house. Give it a try, certainly a place I would stay again. |
