Hana, Hawaii. It's the cutest little town with a nice beach. Though I think Santa Cruz, California would be awesome. |

my vote's for San Francisco. Palace of Fine Art, Fisherman's Wharf, Hard Rock San Fran, the Golden Gate and the Battery etc.
Castle Lanes for bowling and plenty of sports to watch (I remember it was so windy at Candlestick park that a service door slammed and sent glass flying!-'July of '78). Ghirardelli Square for shopping, trolleys for riding, and nostalgia in connection with Haight-Ashbury...with bohemian North Beach and the famous City Lights Bookstore but a short drive away.
-and I've lived less than an hour from Los Angeles nearly all my life. |

If you're looking for a medium sized city, I'd say Cleveland. Moderate weather year round and it's a nice city, not super crowded and there is a lot to do.
As for a big city, I'd probably say Chicago. It's a nice city with the "busy city" atmosphere and it has a lot to see and do. |

I know there have been studies to this affect. The locations usually involve rural parts of the country, like plains states. The criteria covers things like crime rate, schools, and employment opportunities. Des Moines, Iowa; Fargo, ND; and similiar places rank prominently. |
