Personally, if I could afford it, I'd take my whole family to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The hot springs there is very organized and I enjoyed it so much. I can't say I ahve much to compare it to in this country. |

Thermopolis, Wyoming. Then you can also go to Yellowstone from there which isn't too far away and experience both places. Otherwise, check out the Tobacan Hot Springs in Costa Rica.
Hey there, CB, funny seeing you answer this question too as another Michiganian. |

Glenwood Springs, CO is a beautiful place to visit. After swimming at the pool (ahh, so warm - I have even been swimming as it snowed!) go whitewater rafting, just look out for the skinny dippers! Yes, you can find your own hot springs in the river sometimes . . . |

There are hot springs all over America. Pick the state you want to visit and check for them on line. Everyone should experience a hot spring in their life. A mineral hot springs is even better yet! I love going to our favorite one. |

Colorado has it all. Glenwood is the biggest, you can go nude at Orvis (plus the water has lithium which really relaxes your body), Ouray is small, but the waters are sulphur free so they have no smell. There is also Pagosa, Steamboat, Idaho Springs, Hot Sulphur Springs. I don't know what your tastes are in this area, but Colorado has something for everyone in this department. |

there are many hot and natural mineral springs across the USA. Pick one out and try and then select based on your criteria. Georgia has Warm Springs St. Park, where President Rooseveldt spent a lot of time sitting in the mineral waters. |

I saw this one listed on the Travel Channel's top 10 places to go with hot springs listed as a benefit to use in the USA...
It is Glenwood Springs, Colorado...
It is truely lovely there and you get mountains and snow as well...
There is nothing to compare with being in a hot spring in Winter time with snow on the ground all around you with the steam rising off the springs... |

Hot Springs, North Carolina, right outside of Asheville. They have hot tubs that are enclosed on three sides and the fourth looks out into the forest. They offer wonderful massage. You can stay at the spa, in a cabin, or camp out. My favorite part was sitting around the campfire in my bathrobe, between my soak and my massage, and just enjoying being in my exclusive little corner of heaven. |

Harbin Hot Springs retreat is located near Calistoga, California. You can soak all day long in the warm pool (96-98 deg) or try the hot (113 deg) or cold plunge spring pools. It's located in a beautiful mountainous region where you can take hikes, camp, or view wildlife like deer and turkeys. You can also take personal development and yoga classes or get massages at the retreat center. They are especially known for their watsu (water shiatsu) treatment.
For a very relaxing and cheap -about $25 per day w/ membership- vacation, you should try Harbin. But be aware that it's a clothing optional retreat-so if you're squeamish about nudity, you might want to check out a different place. Oh, and though you'll see mostly adults here, kids and families are welcome. |
