Hi, You will not find affordable housing it's out of control. Low crime rate what is that? No matter where you go you will never get away from crime and drugs. Try Santa Barbara it's suppose to be friendly and the ocean is there and close to town. Lol

pasadena, altadena glendale, and seirra madre! i live in pasadena its about 15 minutes away from la and hollywood close to many amazing beaches! It is also close to disneyand and many other famous attractions. It has very little rain, we've barely even had rain this year. It nice warm weather! It is soo friendly, everyone is so nice! All of those cities are right by each other so check them all out!! I think it is the best place in the world to live because you have everything so close to you! |

There is no affordable housing especially any where near a beach and with a low crime rate .
The weather will not be very hot unless you live far from the coast .
We left California because it is headed for trouble.
You can live like a king in most parts of the country on the same salary compared to poverty and despair in California .
If I were to return , I would go to either a small high desert or mountain town and visit the 66 degree ocean a couple of times a year . |

Find an outer suberb of San Diego which would be cheaper to live. Moreover temp. is nice, crime is less, beach is handy and.....you'll find Lots of Friends also |

Well you have a few of those wrong. I grew up in southern Ca. The summers got around 115. Low crime rate! LOL NO WAY!! You should read about that be for you move somewhere!! Some places are very dirty, scary, just bad!!! No housing there is affordable unless you live in the geto. A friend of mine has a nice apt & pays 2000.00$ a month for 2 badrooms. You forgot to say the great SMOG!!!! TRAFFIC!!! Road rage!! Bad schools. I lived there for 30yrs & I am glad to be out!! Good luck & resurch the cities that you think you like.------- You say you don't mind the smog... You have never lived in that bad of smog then!!! When I was in school there were days that they wouldn't let the kids outside until it was time to go home!!! & Smog doesn't bother you..... You just have never been in it that bad then. You'll see!! All that cancer crap you'll be breathing there have at it!!! |

San Diego is a beautiful city - and offers most of what you're looking for. If you live inland, you'll get the hot weather, but the beach will be a reasonably short drive away. You can find relatively affordable housing (well, for SoCal anyway :), and I've always thought the people there were friendly!
As for the crime rate, as with anywhere - it depends on the area you're in. I'd check out CityData which has some good information that might help in your decision-making.
Good luck in your hunt! |

San Diego is the best for very close to beach, perfect pretty warm all season, very low crime, affordable to rent living in the apartment very close to beach, and very friendly area. Wow I saw some apartments are $700 around Hillcrest (near Baloboa Park and San Diego Zoo) 5 minutes to drive to the beach. I wish to move living in San Diego! Houses are really very affordable in San Diego. Los Angeles is more expensive than San Diego! San Diego is very easy and fast near around sport parks, beach, stadium, shoppings, Sea World, zoo, etc. |
