Where should I move?

Okay. So my best friend and I are planning to move in together or in the same area. We are currently trying to figure out where would be best. So personally, I would like a place that has changing seasons (Unlike Florida), the white winter, outdoor activities, close to mountains, provides a good education, and not too overpopulated. My friend doesn't mind the snow, but doesn't want a place that has really bad winter weather. He is pretty easy to please and says, "it looks nice, has room, I'm there".
So I would appreciate anyones input and advice. Also experiences if you feel up to it. Thank you.
Mike

You just described New Hampshire, as long as you are not in Portsmouth or Manchester or other big cities. Close to all of those things but plenty of room and beauty. Winters aren't too bad there either. Fall is stunning with the changing leaves

Oregon west of the mountains. Trust me, it's gorgeous. Mountains and ocean, forests and beaches and no sales tax!

Maybe I'm just bitter about having been burglarized just after we moved here, but don't come to Topeka, KS!!!!!!!!!!
Besides, the jobs are slim pickings!

denver, colorado

sounds like you should move either to Denver, or Salt Lake, I live in Utah, it's pretty nice here, it snows, but the winters aren't that bad, most of the snow stays in the mountains, Denvers winters are much worse

Minnesota has everything you want cept mountains. and the winters aren't nearly as bad as all those flordia-pansies complain about. it barely ever goes below zero anymore anyways, and the snow always melts until january, then it stays till march or april. i love it here.

My goodness, that leaves so many places to select. When ever I look for a new place to live it depends on many things. For instances jobs, friends and the general interest that I may have. But if you are looking for a place with those points you mentioned, I would select Idaho or Wyoming. Boise Id.,Twin Falls Id., and Jackson Hole or Cheyenne Wy. are really nice places. The weather is good and outdoor activities are numerous. The southern part of Idaho has snow in the winter and warm in the summer. The mountains are very close and you cannot beat the Rockies. The population is limited and jobs are everywhere. Blue (the cat) says he would move there but too many critters would eat him. Unlike northern Idaho, the southern partof Idaho is desert so the winters are not as bad. Also they do not get the ice that the mid-western states get. I did a trip out there as a travel nurse and it was a very pretty place with all sorts of outdoor things from hunting, fishing, snowboarding, skiing and just any kind of outdoor fun you could imagine. Blue says you should think about it. Even the movie stars are buying homes in those areas to get away and live in better areas. I hope you and your friend have a great time and that the move is not to bad. Get that UHaul and travel...(giggling)

in my opinion the west coast has more distinct seasons...in colorado, you have lakes for the summer, and mountains for the winter, and everything in between...california has the mountains, the ocean, lakes, the valley, so you kinda get the best in every world...those would be my two suggestions...happy hunting

Google best places to live, every year they come up with some list. Research and go with your vibe about what feels right.
