Smyrna, and Vinings. Close to downtown, without the price of downtown. |

it all depends, if you have money go up near north atlanta (buckhead, dunwoody, ect.) if not go north north atlanta (woodstock, acworth) i live in acworth before living where i do now and loved every mintue of it, also you could move southwest/east atlanta (stockbridge, mcdonda..? and conyers, but most people who live in conyers dont like it here, so id say acworth or woodstock |

I like Smyrna or Marietta.
You're close to the city, but not 'in the city'.
I've included some links....

Woodstock, Kennesaw, Canton or Dallas. Depending how close you want to be....Rome, GA is beautiful, with excellent schools, and lots to do...but 1 1/2 hours away from downtown Atlanta.....45 minutes from Marrietta. Savannah is a good 3 1/2 hours from Atlanta. |

Try searching in Kennesaw, Acworth, Woodstock. I live in Kennesaw and it's a great place to live just 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta. Savanah is like 2 hours aprox. away from Atlanta. |

McDonough, Jenkinsburg, Locust Grove, Jackson. These areas are more family oriented and quiet. There are less people and a lot less crime. These areas are located south of Atlanta and it only takes about 30 minutes to drive up I-75 to get to Atlanta. |

I was born and raised in Georgia. I grew up in Norcross, then moved to Gainesville and finally ended up in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains, Helen to be exact. Helen is a beautiful little town in White County Georgia located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The Chattahoochee River runs right through downtown Helen and it's only about 75minutes north of Atlanta. Here are some links you can visit to see just how beautiful it is for yourself.

Yes, anywhere west and northwest are going to be more affordable. And the neighborhoods are decent the further away from the city you are. Like Dallas, Marietta, Kennesaw, etc. Just remember Cobb County & Cherokee County when doing your searching.
Hope this helps! |

depending on your budget the pricier places are in north atl. places such as Piedmont area, buckhead, lawrenceville, alpharetta, sandy springs, roswell, . You can find cheaper places around metro atl such as stone mountain, lithonia, and conyers which are east of atl. Douglas county is nice and a good price on the west metro area. If you go south of atl you can move to Fairburn, Union City, Palmetto, Newnan. Those are nice areas and are the cheapest of all that i mentioned |

vinings is the most beautiful place to reside in Atlanta suburbs and has good school choice. smyrna / marietta are good localities too. All only 20 mts from downtown. |

Suwanee, just northwest of Atlanta in Gwinnett county has an amazing 270 acre green space, affordable housing, and good schools. The traffic is terrible and its near I85. If you don't have to commute downtown Suwanee might be idea. |

I don't think you should move! I mean what about your friend!? Don't she matter? What about your family? Have you weighed this consideration heavily?! What about.... What about uhmm... something!? I know there is another "what about" somewhere, just give me a sec... I'll come up with something! What about Tennessee? Franklin? That way your friends may go with you!!!.... Yeah what about that?! |

Not another moving to Georgia person....we are already busting out of the seams! Why here? The schools suck.. they are number 49 in the country, the traffic is horrible, the air quality is terrible and I hope you bring your own man because there are not enough single straight black men here and the ones that are decent know they are so the women don't have much choice. And if you are married and moving here good luck at trying to keep your man. Well you will see how it is for yourself.
If you must move here, try Alpharetta, Roswell, Fayetteville, Snellville, Kennesaw or Acworth. |

Hell with Atlanta...go south of Savannah, to a little quiet town of Ludowici, great school and safer neighborhoods, and it's just outside an Army base |
