all these places are within driving distance, of Michigan or are still in the state.
They are not that expensive and they are gear to family fun.

rent a cabin in the porcupine mountains if you are adventurous and like to hike its awsome, if you dont like that type of stuff got to michigan adventures you get a water park and another park with rollar coasters for one price if you like to camp thers old orchard park in oscoda there are lots of cool things around there, alcona park , which is close to that , mackinaw island is pretty cool you take a boat overthere and there are no cars pretty cool, there is a camp ground in st ignas right over the bridge its cool at night great view of the bridge all lite up sleeping bear sand dunes is pretty cool thats by traverse city, iguess it depends on what you like to do ive been and done alot in this state i love it here good luck and have fun

Gettysburg and Hersey, both in Penn. It's a lot of fun and the drive is great. It only take about 8-9 hours from Oakland County, Michigan.

If you live in Michigan, then you have probably done everything on my list. But this is where we usually go:
Upper Peninsula
Mackinac Island
Cedar Point
Detroit Zoo, just for the day
Sea World
Camping or staying in a cabin on Lake Michigan, or any other lake in Michigan
If you want to go somewhere new, Not near Michigan, try going on a Cruise. Our family has been on 3 cruises. They are a lot of fun, and you get to visit beautiful places. And cruises are not that expensive. Good Luck finding your vaccation spot, and have fun!!

Depends on what you want to do and how far you want to go.
I took my children to frankenmuth for the night at the Zender's waterpark hotel, they had a blast but it's definitely not worth more than a night.
I also took the children to The beach resort hotel in Traverse City in the summer months for the weekend and they loved it. If your children loves watersports any beach resort would do.

You didn't give any information on what you like or how old your kids are, but my suggestion would be to go up to the Upper Penninsula, especially if you haven't been there before.

There are beautiful places to see, camp, swim, etc. It's a great place for a family get away , and it's not going to be expensive. Mackinaw Island, crossing over the Mackinaw Bridge is fun for kids if they haven't gone before. There are beautiful beaches with very few crowds on the north shore of both Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Great campgrounds if you like to do that type of thing.
