Not sure what area you are from or how far you want to go, but Piegeon Forge TN is a great fun place to go. Great shopping, Great food, great shows and great sight seeing. Beautiful leaves in the fall. You can even stay in secluded cabins away from town to make it more pieceful. Check out www.mypigeonforge.com for more great attractions there. We just went in october and we loved it.

Grand Canyon (peaceful natural beauty)
Florida (great all over - wonderful scenery too can enjoy the ocean or the gulf)
Wisconsin Dells (great people & things to do & see. Lot's of fun)
Colorado (the hot springs are marvelous & people were great)
Hope this helps. It depends on what weather & fun you want. There are so many places!

The Florida Keys or SW Florida around Naples. There's a place called Port of the Islands we used to go to every year because the people there treat you like family the minute you arrive. The best island in the Keys for us is Sugarloaf, but really anywhere in the Lower Keys (between Marathon and Key West) is nice.

I'm also very fond of Arizona. Very kicked back, even in the big cities and they know how to make a mean Marguerita.

florida keys- its an island without the passport

Florida! Plenty to do if you want. Relax if you want and shop till you drop.

ALL americans are friendly and after a while it gets a bit sickly as they all want to help you soo much!

Colorado.
seriously. go to Steamboat Springs.
it's in the mountains and it's absolutely breathtaking.
they have a ton of relaxing ski resorts and everone is super nice.
they also have a gorgeous natural hot springs called Strawberry Park. (clothing optional after dark)
don't go to a big city. you won't be able to relax.

West Virginia which is just beautiful, New York..which is great, and Colorado which as one writer said is breathtaking with the Grand Canyon, but every State is different but all have wonderful scenery, and the people are great wherever you go.....have a great time..!! but there again you cannot fail.

People are friendly EVERYWHERE in America---but it depends on what TYPE of vacation you want to take...as to where you should go.... if it's purely for relaxation and some deep sea fishing and it's winter.... head for SOUTHERN FLORIDA---you can also stop at DisneyWorld in Orlando, Florida on the way to a more warm southern trip for an out to sea fishing experience. OR, if you are into monuments and political history, then Washington DC is the place to visit... If you want a little of everything, then California is a must.... In southern California there are warm oceans and Disneyland and beaches and in southern California you can go skiing and do any winter sports.... For a generaly SKIING vacation, there is VERMONT in the East and Colorado, Wyoming and Utah in the west for GREAT Ski vacations. If you plan on coming in the SUMMER, and spending some time, then rent a car or hop a train and see as much of the country as you can....must sees would be----Mt. Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, Niagara Falls (New York), New York City ---especially for shopping, maybe a scenic ride down the Mississippi or Hudson or Colorado rivers. There are so many more things to see and do in America... but like I said, it all depends on what time of year you plan to visit.
